The owwie that wasn't

Sorry to be so prolific, I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. You know I work in one of the bussiest ER's in the state. Sometimes we're so busy no one gets to go to lunch, take a break etc. So today I realized I needed to call my doctor cause I don't sleep and I needed a refill on my prescription. I don't know his number, I don't know the pharmacy's number and I have this charge nurse that if looks could kill I woulda been dead before I ever went to work there. I don't want her to see me on the phone, so my only alternative is to go to the bathroom and call. I had to pee, so I pee and after I pee and I'm just sitting there I decide to call 411 for the numbers. Then I realized I didn't have anything to write them on, so I wrote them on my leg. I just took my clothes off, getting ready to wind down, look in the mirror and think I have a HUGE bruise on my leg.... nah, it's just smudged phone numbers, lol. Mac

That's funny. Need some help washing up?

Nah, alcohol prep pads already took care of the problem, body paint... then maybe I'd need your help

Your charge nurse sounds like mine, must be sisters. She doesn't bother me though, I've been there to long and paid my dues. But, it sure is something to see her go after the newbies!

Mine hax had to go to classes to attempt to change her behavior. Sad.

That's why I always had a pad and pen with me. I could never write on my hand like some people I know.

Write on my hand, bandaids, paper towels, the sheet the patient is lying on, whatever's handy. I'd lose a pad, lol! Plus too much shit in my pockets...IV needles, scissors, disposable thermometers etc.
