Mac is wired

So, there I was, minding my own business. I was sitting in "the chair" with the laptop in my lap reading some of the things you pervs come up with. All of the sudden I couldn't navigate to another page... ANYWHERE!

I'd gone wireless about a month ago and now the connection was down. So I came in here to my desktop, down too. I thought ohhhh it'll come back up. I waited about 30 mins, nada.

I got on the horn with Bellsouth, that's who I ahve my dsl through. Now imagine Mac as a computer tech! I spent 30 mins on the phone with Jack from Bombay, I had to unhook ether net stuff and plug this in and that back in there.

I had to UNPLUG my wireless router. SOB. But at least I can get online via the giant in my bedroom aka the desktop.

Could have called me. I'm a big geek and could have probably walked you through it quicker. I'm surprised they helped you when dealing with a router. Most places don't want to help you with routers since they'd rather you spend extra money for more connections than split just the one.

That's the thing, they didn't help me with the router!! A friend tried to help me with the router, but when I hook it up the modem stops working. I think there's something wrong with the router but have no idea why it would suddenly stop working. UGHHH

Bellsouth DSL is not wireless friendly. They want you to pay them $10 per month more so that they can set up your wireless network to run on more than one computer. In other words, you can probably set it up to work with your laptop, but then your desktop can't be connected. My roomate has Charter and they don't care how you hook up to their system. My recommendation is to get high speed through your cable company, ditch Bellsouth, and use your cell phone as your only phone. Cheaper with better service. This is only a suggestion.
