Lil' Mac gets skeered.

My little girl came out today.

I was at work. My boss told me she needed to see me in her office. I was too busy to go there immediately.

The little girl inside me assumed that I was in trouble.

This is part of my perfectionism. I don't do my job perfectly. I don't get every single IV on the first try, sometimes I am not quick enough with a bedpan or urinal. Sometimes when it get so chaotic, I feel like I don't know what's going on.

So my baby self thinks she's in trouble. I am dreading going to the boss's office even though I like her immensely.

But I do go. I knock. She says come in, in I go. She says please sit down. My heart is thumping. It's just like when I were little and thought I was in trouble.

Then something miraculous happens. She is apologizing to me for something a charge nurse said to me. Then I realize that that person was sent home early today.

As I explained to her, the charge nurse in question's attitude has always been bad, I've grown accustomed to it and didn't think anything of it.

This woman is verbally abusive and I think nothing of it. Hmmmmm. Very interesting.

The big boss then goes on to tell me that she appreciates my hard work and that I do a good job. My inner child was puffed up with pride.

I'm off till Sunday, that's the only day I signed up to work extra. My little girl needs a big nap.

It's always good to know that your boss has 'your back'. Too often, we focus on the negative and ignore the positive.

My little girl had her first review today. Where I work, the do it right on the floor at the manager's desk. Before I went over I asked my co-worker, "I wonder what Ramon will do if I burst into tears?"

It went well, however, and the little one was very relieved and proud.

I'm glad you had a nice end to your work week. Now you just need a good start to your week off... How many states away is that again?

States away from where? Michigan? WHat would I do with a man with bum ribs anyway?

I'm generally always expecting to get in trouble myself. Fortunately for you you have a boss that apparently takes care of problems at least on occassion.

Yeah, she's trying to clean up someone else's mess. However the person in question got the Employee of the Month Award 2 mo ago. Doesn't really maek any sense.

If you do a good job then fuck anyone that tries to detract from that.
