Rough Start, But Mostly Clear

Today started off rough. My poor body is not as fast as it once was on the recovery process of lifting. Long story short(er) is that I ran late to the office (again). I have a history of being 5 mins late. I could be ok if it were 15 to 30 mins late, but 5? If I made that light, could I have been on time?? I at least got to run down the highway at just over 90mpg (just over 140 K's) to the pleasurable evil sounds of the band Tool...

Ok, so I was late. No big deal. I know that I'm going to have a couple of emails and IM's or something to look forward to. Nope. Nothing. Isn't funny how addicted to the shit we get? We get used to the little offline hellos or emails or comments... When we don't get it... I don't know what you do, but I get a little upset. I no longer have anything to give me a little lift in the morning. This actually used to make my day, if not week, if they are from the right person or two.

My phone is exploding off the hook with my boss, who said he had to stay at home today, calls me to ask about configuring his personal PC systems at his house! WTF? He can play sick, but I get written up for it??

I really thought the day was going down the shitter, however, by noon, it started to look up. Evidentally, one of my side businesses went up a notch. I thought it was just going to stagnate, but it's actually doing something. That excites me a little.

Then, I started to work on my plans for my workout tonight. Today is an off day for me! Wooohooo! I love the feeling that you have to go and do something that's a little rough, just to find out it's not that day... It kind of reminds me of when I was in college and thought the test was on Tuesday, just to find out it's the next Tuesday!!

I actually had one IM conversation today as well... That was really nice. I love when people just say hello out of nowhere, checking in on you! She's a very nice friend. Do you ever send someone an offline IM or anything just to let them know that you were just thinking of them? It really can be a great way to cheer someone up! Try it sometime if you don't believe me. The return could be threefold!! I don't do this anymore, as I think I've annoyed a few, but I used to. Isn't it funny how much power we give to other people when we establish relationships? They can be friends, crushes, e-loved ones, etc... It sucks, in a way, giving this much power up, but it must be done. If we don't we go nowhere. If we do, and something goes bad, we hurt, and sometimes very badly. If we do and it works, well then it was worth it!

Tonight is the night to party! I'm going to go home, change, and sit my ass at the computer... I don't drink anymore (until my one cheat day), so no partying for me...

Even though my day started rough, it at least will finish mediocre. I'm grateful for my friends who continually support me and my stupid quest. My life is starting to become a movie made for Monty Python.... "Bring out your dead!"

I used to...not so really anymore. Hell, it was rarely reciprocated anyways.

Glad to hear your day perked up.

I love to get messages from people I know. It's a nice feeling to be a thought during someone's day. Maybe that's why I've been running to the computer when I get home lately.
To check messages and blog responses.
Have a great night Aas.

Sometimes I'll IM when someone is not on-and I do appreciate all the offline IM's I recieve-I do-and I do think of people-it's just I can't always return them-because I am getting ready to jet out the door again-but I do read every single one of them!

I'm sick of hearing about the boss being able to do whatever... In the military, we lead by example...

It is always fun to read you, my friend. And if it doesn't sound too patronizing (because it isn't my intent), it sure seems like there is alot of good positive growth happening -- and not just in your muscles. (The post I liked about the working out was because it was so vivid and honest. It just strike me unlike things you usually write, i don't know why.) Your friends do support the quest...and you are getting closer, I think. Maybe not to what you THINK you want, but what you want in fact. Best wishes on it.

Positive growth... It might be that. It might also be sick and tired of being shit upon. They are very similar, I think. In other words, my other stuff is whiny and boring, and this one actually held your interest?? Great! I'm super excited I was able to hold my audiences' attention this time. LOL

Offline IMs are good to send and receive. Keep the morning simple and you'll never be late to work.

But hey, it's the weekend now - enjoy, my friend.

Keep the morning simple - I certainly wish that I could. I have two animals (dog and cat) that require nurturing (not food), but they just don't understand that I have to work for a living. I have to always grab my gym gear and my food (previously made) out of the fridge, which I forget often, b/c I'm breaking my bad habits of not eating. I could go on and on. Instead, now, I fill my gas tank up the night before and pack my bag at night now, which seems to shave some time off.

I agree, Aas! It's amazing how much a simple IM or email can brighten someone's day! I often send out little messages to my online friends just to say hello. And, quite often, I get offline messages from them, too. And, it always makes me smile!

Btw, great movie reference! "But, I'm not dead, yet..."
