Don't be my valentine

Valentine's Day is like herpes.....just when you think its gone for good, it rears its ugly head once more. No wonder some people like me prefer to call it VD.

Yes, it's that special time of year when chocolate manufacturers and greetings card companies encourage you to demonstrate the extent of your fondness in cold, hard, cash (or the satin covered equivalent) on February 14th.

F*beep*k that.

This year, celebrate by sending me an anti-valentine comment. Stick two fingers (or one, if you're that way culturally inclined) at any organisation with a vested interest which prescribes how and when to show your feelings.

Send it today, tomorrow, or any day you damn well please !!

Liefs Coffee

I am also anti V-day. One can express one's affection
without the commercialism that card companies try to
impose. And one can do it every day too!!!!

Valentines Disease.....
Symptoms....Excessive watching for the postman....sudden desire for boxed chocolate....longing for floral bouquets.......finding yourself going ooohhh or aahhh at the sight of fluffy toys
Cure...a large dose of reality.....

I think there might be about 10 people who celebrate Valentines day in Iceland, luckily I'm not one of them. When I want chocolates I go out and buy them (those heart shaped chocolates are usually inedible anyways). If you need a special day to tell someone you love them, if you need a reminder... then how deep can that love be?

I'm with Katsback - skip VD and jump to St. Patricks Day. Green beer is better than stale candy hearts.

I have always thought that day was adressed to Rudolph Valentino, but I have never been able to figure out why all those hearts and pinky colors did matter.

OK so now it is Valentines Day so ....

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Hallmark are wealthy
And so are Interflora

OK so it doesn't rhyme but then again who decided, when writing the original version, that roses should only be red?

I am not really cynical, I do believe in love, I have seen it.

At the church of Hollywood.
