Cyber v. Sensate

I don't know about your experience, but it seems to be that after a certain amount of cyber connection, wouldn't you want to make it real? Even if you had very low self-esteem for any number of reasons, isn't the worst of realities better than the best fantasy? Simply because it's real? Yeah, sounds like The Matrix.

And if you say you want the real thing, and if you are sincere, what is stopping you from picking up the phone? Or meeting for coffee? Fear of rejection? Fear of physical intimacy?

I am full agreement with you. Most contacts on this site seem only to want to live in the cyber world and not venture out into the outdoors. Is it just fear of the real world or maybe fear of themselves and what they will do when they actual meet someone they have corresponded with. I suspect that many live a cyber fantasy and are not the people they porport to be on line and that maybe that is why after a few emails silence prevails and any suggestion of actually meeting is left hanging in the ethanet.

Well sadly, no matter what the situation, some will always choose to not be honest.
