I'm back mofos

Okay, the 5-day pseudo vacation is over (pseudo cause there was volunteer work involved, and I didn't get paid vacation time), and here's the report.

American Legion Convention went fine. It was my last official duty as a member of the New York Sons. Now I can transfer my membership to a CT Squadron. There was an elections controversy, basically down state politics. My soon to be Brother-in-Law was named Chair of the state's Americanism Committee. We were visited by a bunch of placating Republican politicians who drew standing ovations for promising, if elected, to protect the Boy Scouts from the ACLU, and to alter the Constitution to protect the physical symbol thereto at the expense of our most sacred rights.

I saw four movies, two new, two classics. On Friday, I saw Clerks II, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I'll never watch Silence of the Lambs the same way again. Yesterday I took my mom to see Monster House. I was worried, cause the critics said this film was not for young children, and yet every child there had to be under 8. But thankfully, there was not a repeat of the Cars fiasco. It's a good film, great animation and dialogue. Last night I saw M*A*S*H and The Maltese Falcon on TV, so my cinematic tastes are fulfilled till next weekend, where, if nothing else, I'll watch Clerks again.

I'm back to normal. There's still an inkling in my head about a personal matter, and whether I should pay it any attention, but otherwise, I'm good to go. It just sucks I gotta go to work tomorrow.

Good to see you back....am actually on my way out the door to check out Clerks II.

And...isn't normal a relative term?

Glad you had a productive week.

Was Monsters scary? Is it a kids movie? I was thinking of seeing that, should I?

It's not scary, but it's certainly not for kid under 8. That's why it got a PG rating. There are some images that may be scary for the smallest kids, and there's a little bit of language that those under 8 may not need to hear, but for us adults, it's a pretty fun movie. If nothing else, look at the two possible threesome scenarios amongst the cast.
