Is It Just Me Or,....

Is it just me or do these profiles seem to have one line within them in common? I read a lot of profiles and I’ve always come across many of them that will almost be identical or they will have something along the line of what I’ve copied and pasted here.

I want to get out of the rut my life is in. On Sunday afternoons I like to meet friends at a café. In my free time I like to speed down the highway with no destination in mind. Sexually, I'm open to anything. Commitment-wise, we can just be good friends who want to have a little fun together. To me, traveling means leaving the everyday world behind. I look forward to whatever life brings. If you contact me please include a face pic. I'm not changing my life, I'm just turning up the volume on my leisure time.

Hey there! I'm an easy going, nonjudgmental girl who's looking for new things to try out. I'm your typical down-to-earth woman, always treating people with respect and honesty. I'm the type who's generally considered the go-to girl when there's a problem. For me a perfect Friday night is relaxing at home. The philosophy I live by is don't judge, but always stay true to my personal set of values. Commitment-wise, it doesn't have to be serious, so long as we enjoy it. In my free time I like to spend time in the outdoors. Experience-wise, I've spent years learning how to be completely thorough with my lovers. I like my partners to be honest. Everything else flows from there. If you contact me I might not reply immediately since I'm new to this and still a bit shy. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I'm not changing my life, I'm changing how I live it.

When I go out, usually some friends and I hang out together and laugh for a few hours. The philosophy I live by is stay relaxed, stay mellow, stay loose and be open to whatever happens. To me, traveling means somebody cute is dragging me out of the house. I get along best with people who have a positive attitude. I've always been good at sitting back and listening to what others have to say. In my free time I like to see current movies. I look forward to seeing how the online dating world works. I'm not changing my life, I'm just trying to make it more interesting. If you contact me please include a face pic.

im 41 5'3 with long brown hair and brown eyes, i am looking for someone to have fun and spend some time with, that enjoys the same things i do, i like going out to dinner or just sitting at home and watching a good movie together and see what happens from there,i love the outdoors, fishing, camping, or just going on a road trip to get away for the weekend, im not trying to change my life just want to add a little fun to it.

I've reached the point where I can look back and say I've done well... but there's more to do. For me a perfect date is one where we head out with a plan, but we go where the night takes us. When I'm out driving I like to see the sights along the back roads. I've always been good at turning nothing into something great. For me a perfect Friday night is relaxing at home. To me, traveling means being willing to get lost along the way. If you contact me I might not reply immediately since I'm new to this and still a bit shy. I look forward to whatever life brings. I'm not changing my life, I'm just trying to make it more interesting.

By the way these were all women profiles for your information. I am beginning to wonder if there is some sort of template for writing a profile because so many read about the same.

I am also curious as to what they are implying by writing 'I am not changing my life'? It's almost as if they're saying they are not changing their life because they are a member of the site.

That's what happens when they get the "professional" edit function. Everybody can have it done. I've read the same thing on a number of men's profiles too. I think they're just scared of letting their mind wander.

Kind if what I thought too. I'll find some more that are very similar word for word.

there is...
something that is clickable to help you write your profile...
with multiple choice answers to put in there...

automatically sez...............
things to me. hate reading the same thing...

i also don't like the multiple choices on the profile questions...
i blogged about that one tonight as a matter of fact.... about the
whole *prefer not to say* thing

Just a little food for thought.............

My darlin'
I've voiced the same "concerns" ... I have wondered if someone can't even write something "original" or honest... well... how much effort do they really want to put into meeting someone? There are lots of ho-hum, good and even great examples of profiles.... all people have to do is check out the "competition". And yes, I do believe there is a template, and it's common with both men and women. Like so many others... when I see those same old tired lines... I just don't even read any more.

Chat soon? (thanks for your comment on my blong, wink, wink)
