Council Bluffs, Iowa: Day 9

I got checked out of hotel this morning and left it behind. Today at work wasn't too bad although I was tired from getting up earlier than I usually do. The day went by pretty quick. As soon as I got off work I reset my trip odometer and looked at my watch to see how far of a trip it was and how long it would take me to get to my new home. It was 25 miles and it took me 35 minutes. 15 of those minutes are spent just trying to get out of the parking lot at work and getting to the highway. Once I get there it's all interstate driving.

As I got to my new home I walked up to my door and punched in my code to enter. As I walked in the first thing I noticed was there was some bananas and a box of donuts on the kitchen counter. I opened the fridge and there was a 6 pack of coke, salad mix, and some eggs. The first thing I thought was that either someone had left it behind or maybe it was a welcome kit, Then I thought that's kind of a weird welcome kit. I called the guy that manages the property. He said that wasn't right and would be right over.

Within minutes he was there and came inside to take a look. He told me that he thinks what happened is that he had given my room to someone else by accident. He went on further to say that it was no big deal and he could just give me another apartment. So after the dust had settled I ended up staying at the original one and this lady came over and picked up the stuff.

Shortly after that signed onto the internet using dialup. Good lord. It is so slooooow compared to what I am used to. I told the manager that he'd definitely have to arrange for me to get some high speed going on here, After awhile I began unpacking and putting things in their proper place. Right now I am getting ready to shut her down for the night and go to bed. I didn't get any grocery shopping done tonight. I will do that tomorrow evening after I get off work.

Oh and by the way,..I found out that my bathtub has an optional whirlpool too! As soon as I get around to it I will take some pics of my place and show everyone my new home.

That would be a weird experience!

Yea, was weird. Like I said I initially thought it was some sort of welcome kit but I thought eggs, a partial loaf of bread?,...that's a weird welcome kit,!
