Survival!

There are a number of factors to surviving a situation, a natural disaster, a flu epidemic, life in general. I read a nutrition book in the 80's and it said one of the keys to living a long life was not to die in an accident. Survival depends on your ability to cope with the situation as well as how severe your situation is. Here are a few things not to die of;
Cigarette smoking causes the death of one in three people who smoke, one third of those from lung cancer.
Obesity contributes to breast cancer and colo-rectal cancer.
Poor diet generally causes poor health.
All of the above cause the body to have a lower immunity to disease and would lessen your chance of survival in any emergency situation.
My questions are, how many apples can you get for the price of your pack of smokes? How much more is diet soda than regular? Could you get vitamins for three months with the money you spend on your chips and dip for just one football game?
Ok, enough lecturing, be careful driving to get your apples, or maybe walk there?
