Should be.....

My personal view is there should be a pic - I totally understand the need for discretion but it should be a requirement - I am certain that there are more responses to a picture profile than not.....

I agree with you. When I first started I did not recieve any activity at all now that I put my pic up. None stop. I recommend that everyone should put one up. It gives everyone a chance to see at least part of the person. Then you know what the person looks like, somewhat.

Last time I posted my honest opinion on the subject I caught hate mail for a month. But I'll say that a picture goes a long way towards breaking the ice.

Yup, you're right. Though I haven't yet, came here out of curiosity, haven't really had time so it's not been a priority. Though a suggestion, you aren't really risking anything to send an email thru this site (as long as you don't give your tru email) to someone who's profile really does interest you. They can SEND you a picture then. If you aren't interested, either don't respond at all or just be blunt and tell them you aren't interested (up to you how much truth you give, these sites are learning experiences anyway, you can't hurt a stranger's feelings but so much).

And I suspect alot of women are just afraid they're going to be recognized by people in their home town so they're a little leery of posting the pic. Some, like me, may just not have a decent digital camera OR A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER!!! Know any????? lol

There are many reasons why people don't post photographs on their profile. I have several myself. But i find most people, if you ask nicely and use your p's and q's, will give you one. As far as being a requirement, i personally think that is a bit of an extreme.
