No blue suede shoes for this guy !!!!!

In the town next to me called COLLINGWOOD, every year at this time, they put on something called the Elvis Festival.

People from all over the world come to be a part of this tacky get together.

If you walk around, you will see people of various ages, including kids dress up like Elvis.

There are even female Elvises.

I wonder if some of them dress up their pets like Elvis.

Some of them are really into it. They spend thousands of dollars on outfits and they can sing too !!

There are rumours that the real Elvis makes an appearance here. It would be funny if he entered the competitions and he lost as best tribute artist.

This year, I avoided the place.

What tacky festival does your area put on ?

I know some places in North America celebrate the most stupid things.

Im lucky as we dont hold tradition to tacky festivals here.

Must say though i really cannot stand all the Elvis hype & impersonators.

Yeah ok the guy was attractive when younger & was a popular singer but there were & still are far better around than him.

You are not the only one who doesnt understand the hype with Elvis.

I dont understand it either.

This festival has been around for just a few yrs.

We are on a big huge bay here. A big boating festival or a festival with a garden theme would be much more appropriate.

I am guessing it was started by some Elvis lovers in my area. The taxpayers of Collingwood were subsidizing it for a while and that made many citizens in the area angry. Festival subsidizing happens in many places in Canada.
