NO BAN / NO DELETE

What does this mean ?

It means I will not ban anyone or delete your comments. Your comments will be available for everyone to read so long as this blog exists.

Why do I have such a policy ?

It is to protect me and the other people who comment in my blog. I also am a big believer in freedom of speech.

How does it protect me and the other people who comment in my blog ?

If you were to flame or abuse me or the other people who comment in my blog, I need your comments to be available to every member, including me, just in case you contact the abuse team and put in complaints against me or anybody else.

Steve,

You've been deligent and consistent in espousing this policy. I think many of us have come to know just within the past 48 hours the true usefulness of such a standard. Thank you for sharing this wealth of information. It just goes to show, that sooner or later, if you "sling enough mud at the wall" (for a total lack of a much better way of phrasing it!) sooner or later, it's gonna stick.

As you may have noticed, I put a link in my intro to this posting.

*I* do not report things to abuse teams unless it involves illegal activity such as playing with animals or children or it has to be very serious.

Your experience with that impotent ozzie phucktard was a good lesson.

I'm with you Steve...I haven't deleted any comments on my blog either. I can't say I never would...but if the occasion arises, I'm sure I will now think twice. Sage advice my friend.

Way to go Steve,i totally agree with your post, only shallow characters delete add line posts and blog posts that they think do not show them in a good light,i say keep them all.

There are just so many advantages to keeping it on your blog.

I should mention to you, if you are not aware of it, banning a person from your blog hides their comments. It does not delete them. If you unban them, their comments become visible again.

But I would rather that their comments be viewable.

Thanks ladies for your input.

Steve

Hey Steve, I generally follow your policy and I think I am going to be more strict about it in the future. I have never banned anyone, even bathrobe guy. He posted some pretty shitty stuff in my blog. I left most of it up. I only deleted something he said about another member which was very hurtful. I have often wondered if I should have left it up. It is all academic now because the website deleted him and all his posts. I am still going to leave that thread in my blog because he is back with another profile. I guess you noticed that SW3 got deleted last night and her comment in this blog is no longer here. I have talked to her by email and she is trying to get it straightened out with the website management. I hope that she and all her posts are reinstated. This probably has something to do with bathrobe guy. It is too bad that someone as good as SW3 got hurt in this fiasco.

The only other comments that I deleted from my blog were spam messages that had nothing to do with discussion in the blog.

For the reasons that you stated, I probably will not delete any more comments from my blog.

SW3 is back.

I guess if a certain blog posting was taken over by him, you can HIDE it or ban him and his postings would still be available if you want to look at them in the future.

I have stated in another place. I think there is another person involved. I dont think bathrobe could have done this alone.

Steve...

As you might know, I, too, have the same policy. Always have - always will. Every word will stand as a testament to anyone who posts within my BLOG. Some have disappeared, though... of their "own" volition. Those, I can do nothing about. I do have a few hidden postings... for simple technical reasons. But, they are quite recallable, if push ever comes to shove. I wish everyone, here, in AFFland would follow suit.

Good post, Bud!

Thanks you for your comment Solar.

I read that exchange between you and NONAME in your blog and it was funny.

All his comments were there and he accused you of deleting them.
