Return to the blog part one

I suppose the first big event to happen during my absence from Blogville was my 35th birthday.

It was actually a very quiet day, being a Thursday evening and all. Still, every five-year mark seems to be the earmark beginning of a new stepping stone in my world.

For instance, 15-20 was the Scared Era. (Scared for the future since I had no idea what my future held.)

20-25 was the Uneasy Era. (Uneasy because I still had no idea where I was headed, and embarking on many new relationships with different people in my life, and still not a clue about my career concerns.)

25-30 was the GOTTA-GET-ER-DONE era. (This was the time when all I had in my mind was climbing whatever corporate ladder I could get in line for. Everything else took a backseat.)

30-35 was the Get-Wise era. (Career shit somehow started to simmer down enough to be able to put them all on the back burners while I got down to the realities of what life is really supposed to be all about.)

And this June I hit 35. The era I am embarking on remains yet unnamed, and the individual occurrences are very unclear at this point, but some very definite likelinesses of some things are finally coming into play for me. I've had a few shocking realities transpiring before my eyes right away, which I will be blogging about in next days, and they make me wonder if this particular era isn't going to be the strangest and most wonderful yet. At least, it is starting out that way!!!

How about you? Have you ever had these sorts of things cross your minds?

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are getting.
