Goldie

She's surprised to see me home at nine. She's staring at me with wide open eyes as I kick off my shoes and put my pink slippers on. That's been early yet for me most nights.

Immediately I throw some laundry on to wash. As usual, she watches all this with great interest...and chases after my heels around the house. Then I light a smoke and sit down to have a conversation with her.

"So what's mama doing home so early" I coo...reading her mind as she listens and watches me intently.

She then jumps up and hustles over to me. She smells something when approaching me. She wants to sniff my hands. She looks back up at me with this "ISH!" look she sometimes gives me.

"I bet it wasn't mama's hands that made you look at me that way. I bet you smelled mama's feet!!!"

She looked back at me for a moment, confused. I give her the eyebrow. Now she is disgusted.

Then she dismissed me as a total fruitcake and trotted away to go play with her string.

What would I do without this little dear I come home to at night???

I inherrited 2 cats when my son left home 2 yreas ago. I was at a loss because I always had dogs. I didn't know what to expect for sure. Now 2 years later I have found they are very special. They each have their own personalities and characters. I love them dearly.

I can believe the fruit cake part. LOL You know how cats are, if you have something they want, they love you up. If not then they go where they please with their ass showing!
