Just One More! Just One More!

It seems I'm on a drinkin' song kick lately. The lyrics for this one were inspired by a friend who told me about breaking up with a guy because of the large distance separating them. She's feelin' very badly, and he has turned to drinkin'. I suppose we all deal with heartbreak and pain differently. I would love to credit her in this post, but because of my concerns for her personal privacy rights, I am just not at liberty to provide you her handle or to identify her in any other way.

I'm a heartbroken, lonely man,
Lost the only love I ever had.
She says the distance is too great,
And now I feel so terribly bad!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Bartender, another beer!
It's been a really bad day!
Just gotta have one more beer!

She called today and broke it off.
Guess I'll be fine but not tonight!
Feelin' like hell, just wanna die!
Wish we'd not had that awful fight!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Bartender, another beer!
It's been a really bad day!
Just gotta have one more beer!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Just one more! Just one more!
Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn!

So, the questions are:

1. Has anyone ever broken it off with you?

2. If so, how did you deal with your heartbreak and pain?

1. Yes, more times than I care to remember.

2. I cried... then took a deep breath and kept walking.

You strike me as being a very patient and level-headed person, and I can definitely understand why he would want to come back!

I understand the attitude that one gets when they have been hurt. It is a protective mechanism that keeps us from caring as much as we once did. It is a defensive mechanism and protects us from being hurt all over again. Yet, carried to the extreme, it can harden our hearts to the point where love can no longer enter in.

We can only just keep on walking. Sometimes there is no alternative.

1. yup
2. gotta feel it to heal it...
and trusting that all happens for a reason...
learning the lessons..loving through it..letting go..
and learning to live differently...it is...a choice.

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

"Gotta feel it to heal it." That's a wise saying. And there is a lesson in every set-back. Thanks for stopping by!
