Gone, Gone, Gone!

Inspired by a couple of Bud Lights on a cool star-lit Missouri evening in early April. Dedicated to all those who know what I'm talkin' about.

'Woke up this mornin'
Right next to you.
I held you tight,
And I kissed you too.

And as you turned
Your back to me,
I suddenly knew,
And I could see.

Our love, once warm,
Now fading fast,
Just like a flame,
Gone out at last.

And when love's gone,
You know it's gone,
That love's gone away,
Yes, gone, gone, gone!

Damn! My Bud Light's gone too! Gone, gone, gone! Anybody got a cool one for a thirsty Missouri blogger?

Bartender, get that man a drink, but make it something a little stronger to ease his pain. A KetelOne short screwdriver, double, is on its way!!

Ah, Phoenix, you're a true scholar and a gentleman! That screwdriver sounds good! I have a buddy who is a Ketel One man! I'm more of a scotch and gin martini drinker. But, Bud Light is my staple drink. Have a good weekend, counselor!

Ahh Friend I no longer partake of the spirits 17 years cold sober now and counting but I still rember the desire! Hope this poem is not a reflection on your personal life? If so you will be in our prayers

Micah ... If I had any damned sense, I would stop drinking cold turkey, but I still do. Not excessively anymore and not too often. But, you know, one lapse in judgment after drinking two beers could cause a huge problem. As for the poem, no, I'm not going through that right now, but for some reason that's what came out of my my head or those Bud Light bottles the other night. As for as being in your prayers, put me in by all means! I think you and Carol have a direct connection to the Big Guy upstairs! 'Hope she is still doing well! Is she having to take any treatments? Or will she take any treatments with her condition?

I love this new poetry kick you're on{=}.Is it the beer talking..or you?
MzHuny .... It's kinda weird! All of sudden, I just decided to play with some poetry. Not too good at it. So, when it's bad, blame it on the beer! When it's good, I'll take credit! Hope all is well in KY! TN has been getting hit with all those tornadoes!

Yep, pard, it definitely has a certain beer-drinkin', honky-tonk kind of an appeal to it! I wonder if travelingintexas will like it?

Nothing better, MO, than a cold beer and a hot woman! And not necessarily in that order!

Er uh ... I love your cleavage! But, say, aren't you that lady who did her husband in with a long, pointy pair of scissors? I read about that in a poem entitled Regrets!
