BLOG ON! *** Chapter 54

It was Thursday afternoon in Dallas/Fort Worth, and the weekend was approaching. Travis had prepared a bunch of job applications and resumes to mail off today. He felt like he was getting much closer to finally finding a job. He had received a couple encouraging letters from companies which wanted to interview him. He felt like it was just a matter of time now! His confidence was finally returning after so many months of deep depression.

He decided to run the resumes and job applications he had prepared for mailing down to the post office and then stop by Starbuck's to see how Susie was doing. It was a strange thing, but Travis felt that he was beginning to fall in love with her. After his divorce, not that many months ago, Travis resolved to just play the field and never be hurt by a woman again! He had even joined the HotTimes cybersex and swingers website, and was having a lot of fun blogging and flirting with all the young ladies who were also members of the site. He had met a few of them and he had chatted and exchanged emails with many of them. In fact he had become #1 Most Popular Male Blogger since joining the site in the spring of 2005. Travis Thompson was known on the HotTimes website as the TexasTroubadour2005 or just Tex for short.

As he entered Starbuck's, he immediately spotted Susie behind the counter. God she's gorgeous! Even with her little Starbuck's uniform on! To Travis, Susie just kept getting better looking all the time! Yep! He was falling alright!

"Hi, Susie Q! How are you this fine afternoon!" Travis hollered out and didn't care who heard him. It was like Susie was the only other person in the entire place.

"Shsssssh, Trav! People are trying to read in here, hon!" She chastised him, but he could tell by her wink and smile that she loved his attention!

"What's up, baby? Whadda ya' been doin'?" Susie asked.

"Well, I just mailed off some more resumes. I think I'm gettin' closer, baby! I'm finally feelin' good about things!" Travis responded.

"Honey, you've been feelin' better for several weeks! I can tell!" Susie winked at Travis as she wiped the counter between them.

"Yeah, I guess you're right hon! I think you make me happy!" Travis said in a low Texas drawl as he reached across the counter and put his big hand on her dainty little hand.

Susie Johnson paused and for the first time was at a loss for words. She gathered herself and looked up into Travis' big blue eyes.

"Trav, you make me very happy too!" And for a suspended and surreal moment in time, the two of them exchanged a gaze into each other's eyes that said way more than either one of them could have said by continuing to talk. It was at that precise moment in time that they knew their's was a special relationship.

Finally, Susie escaped the trance she seemed to be under and asked Travis if she could get him a coffee drink. She couldn't just stand there like a school girl in love looking into his eyes. She suddenly remembered that her boss was just around the corner in the store's small kitchen and storage area.

"Yeah, I'll take my usual, a venti vanilla latte, hon!" Travis answered.

"Thanks hon!" Travis said as he handed Susie a five dollar bill. "Keep the change, sweetie!"

Travis sat down in the corner of the store and dug his HP notebook computer out of its carrying case. While here, he would just take advantage of Starbuck's wireless internet service and catch up on his blogging. He hadn't been on the blogs in several days. As his real life began to come alive once again, it seemed that he felt less need to communicate with all of his many cyber friends. Blogging had helped him deal with the pain and loss of his divorce and his sudden and abrupt job loss not long after that. Blogging had been a great release for him, a great personal psychological therapy to deal with his natural grieving process and it also helped him occupy his time on those nights and weekends when he did not have visitation with his children. Without blogging, Travis reflected, I would never have been able to deal with all that I've been through!

Travis brought his computer to life and with a few mouse clicks and keystrokes he was at his HotTimes dot com Home Page.

Wow! Another 78 comments on my blog! I just can't keep up with this any longer! What am I gonna do? I wanna spend more time with my kids, I'm gonna have another job before long, and I also wanna spend as much time as possible with Susie!

All of a sudden, Travis was brought back from his deep thoughts and reflections. He heard a sweet voice calling to him.

"Trav! Trav! Can you hear me? YooooHoooo?" Susie was trying to get Travis' attention but he seemed to be day dreaming.

"Oh, I'm sorry, hon! What did you say?" Travis finally snapped out of it.

"Boy, you've been spacin' out a lot lately, hon!"

"Yeah, gotta lot on my mind, Susie!" Travis replied.

"Trav, my parents invited me for a big Sunday brunch this Sunday. I was wondering if you'd like to come along with me. Jimmy will be with his father, and I'll be all by myself this weekend." Susie had moved from behind the counter over to Travis' table. Another young lady was now working behind the counter as Susie cleaned up all the tables.

Travis cleared his throat upon hearing this sudden invitation. This had seemed to come out of nowhere, and Travis, although falling in love with Stacy, suddenly felt the noose tightening. He thought to himself about whether or not he had anykind of plausible excuse for not accepting Susie's offer. His own kids would be with their mother this weekend, and Travis was not planning to go out of town. In fact, he had been thinking about inviting Susie to go see a movie or go out for dinner on Saturday night. He was trapped. There seemed to be no reason for him to decline her invitation.

"Ummm, Susie, well yes, that would be just great! Are you sure you want to introduce me to your parents? I mean so soon? I mean, do you think they will mind me tagging along with you?" Travis was stuttering and stammering all over himself.

Susie just busted out laughing! She could sense him squirming, and she loved it!

Her laughing and her understanding reaction was so typical of Susie! This is what attracted Travis so much!

"Ya' got me! Didn't ya'?" Travis laughed.

"Yep, I sure did, baby!" Susie giggled.

"Aaaaah, what the hell! Sounds like it'll be fun! Can I bring something to this 'Meet The Parents Summit Meeting'?" Travis joked.

"Just bring your cute lil' ass, baby!" Susie smiled and winked at him.

"Well, Dad is kinda partial to merlot wine.... So, if ya' wanna impress my Daddy, then you can bring along a bottle of wine, hon!" Susie loved to tease Travis. She absolutely loved to mess with his head! And she knew how to do it so well!

Headed to the wedding altar, I do believe, Mag! That is, unless Trav forgets to bring a bottle of merlot along with him on Sunday!

    Quoting rm_magnet4u22:
So, will they be the only happy couple in cyberworld?
Detective Tyrone Washington and wife, Linda, are now happy and will remain married.

Alan Sabre will meet a premature, unnatural death.

Steve Strong (divorced now) nd Karen Kitrane (who will get a divorce) will think they are headed toward marriage but their relationship will blow up!

Dick Steele (married) and Michele Morgan (divorced) are too established in their careers and will not be able to get together in marriage. Dick will remain in an OK, but not a passionate marriage.

What should I do with these two? I haven't decided yet!

Whadda ya' think? An ongoing extra-marital affair doesn't seem to have much closure .... but that would leave the thing open for a sequel ... BLOG ON 2!
