Sick and Tired..

I am going on my trip next week Friday. Up until today I did not have a passport valid long enough for me to get a visa for Indonesia.

Sooo much crap's been going on you wouldnt believe it.
In the summer of the year 2004 I have sold my house. I moved back in with my parents. Because of all sorts of administrative reasons my transfer from my old village to my new one went wrong and I was signed out with an unknown destination. When I found out about that a couple of months later I called them up and they said I had to fill out this and that form and send copies of this and that and all would be taken care of.. Okay so I did..
But then I needed a new passport. The one I have now is valid until June this year and for Indonesian visa it needs to be valid 6 months after arrival date.. So I went to city hall to get a new one.. That's when I find out that all the forms and copies had NOT been taken care of. I had to fill out everything again. I asked her how long it would take because I was in a bit of a rush, seeing I'd be leaving in three weeks. Of course there was no way to speed things up and the quickest she could possibly, mayyyybe do is 1,5 week. And that was it.
So I went home. Meanwhile a week later my mother had suddenly decided (after seeing Round The Bend) that she wanted to come as well. So she had to get a visa as well.
We go to the Indonesian Embassy. The website said closed between 1 and 2pm.. so 2pm we're at the gate. Which would not be opened cuz closing time is 1pm. My mother throws a fit. Starts panicking and crying out (very loud). There was another couple at the gate.. Ziggy & Lisa.. very nice people They would be flying 6th of March, 3 days after us.. and needed visa as well..
So luckily, despite of her panick-attack, my mom remembered that she had the number of this visa-service-company.. We called and half an hour later all four of us were sitting in that office..

Well anyway.. If I have to write all that down it's gonna be a loooooong ass post.. So to make a long story shorter.. After hours of calling, holding the line, being put through, holding the line again.. going from cityhall to the airport to the embassy, to the Royal Military Police, to cityhall again.. to the airport again.. waiting in line.. etc etc etc.. I finally got the Military Police to put a prolongation on the validation date of my passport. So now it's valid until 2007. Good.
Then for the visa. Indonesians are not very fond of the Dutch. They used to be our Colony and they'll grab every little opportunity they can to pester us (since the new minister). So now almost every country in the world gets their Indonesian visa in 2 days (or even less) .. and Dutch and Swedish have to wait 11 working days. (Sweden said something wrong about the Islam at some convention 7 years ago. So probably Denmark is next on that list) A visum is a stamp and a signature in ur pasport. That's not a matter of days.. But if ur Dutch.. 11 working days.. My mother is one day late. "Oh no sorry m'am.. No can do." .. No visa for mum.. let alone for me..
But then we learn.. if someone is dying or really sick.. and you can get a doctor to write a letter stating that and an invitation letter from the sick person; suddenly the visa can also be delivered in TWO days! Behold!
"Luckily".. Just the next day!! One of my family members there got deadly ill! How happy news
So now all the papers are in order.. We just have to wait for our visa and see if they approve.. And then we're off..

I'm about the get the flue as well..
Anyway.. it's been a long day.. I'm very very tired of holding my breath.. counting to ten and putting the wax on and off all day.. So I'm gonna go get some sleep and hopefully be fresh and cheery in the morning..

~*~ Red Tape? ..What is that? .. And I'm not worried.. I don't think about those things too much.. I do really have to go, to scatter my grandmother's ashes.. All her friends and our family is expecting us.. Plus I'll only be staying for 8 days.. And mob?? Maybe they're there.. but I've never had any trouble with them..

Although my last trip to Bali was JusT before the Bombing on the nightclubs in Kuta.. and after that the atmosphere got a bit grim yeah..

I don't know.. I'm just going there with a clear mind and I'll see what's gonna happen.. lol maybe the plane will be hi-jacked ..*knocks on wood*

But I'll be carefull of course! Watch my back and front and my mother and everything will be just fine.. The place I'm staying is a quiet little place, up in the mountains and the woods.. not much action going on there.. So no use bombing us I reckon..

I shall miss you terribly sXy.

You are the brightest light in my life. Without your illumination my words will wither and die, shrivelling away into nothingness. When my heart beats it beats only for you.

Not content with being hundreds of miles away from you yearning touch you are now fleeing further. Was it something I said?

Have a lovely time gorgeous. They say travel is the best thing for inspiring writers so I am sure you will have lots to tell when you return.
