I Love Music, any kind of music

I LOVE MUSIC
I love music, any kind of music
I love music, just as long as it's groovy

I love music, sweet sweet music
Long as it's swinging, all the joy that it's bringing.

The O'Jays

It's true. I enjoy a variety of music. Not too much I don't like. It really lifts my spirits. Gets me jazzed. Especially Dance club music. But anything will do.

Didn't like jazz initially; first experience was jazz fusion. Then I heard other types of jazz and eventually came to appreciate all types of jazz.

I can handle the latest Hip Hop and R & B as well as Bluegrass. And most things in between.

It's part of the reason I got XM sattelite radio. You don't have to wait 'till sunday afternoon on the college radio station to listen to music that isn't so popular. And if you travel out of areas around major cities you can still get all the music you like. The other part is I like my music to be crystal clear with no static. I want to hear all the instruments and the subtle things the artist has put into it.

So what floats your musical boat? Are you an audiophile; into the latest high tech equipment?

I love anything from the 1960's and 1970's...Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, Motown, Steely Dan, Aerosmith...the music today...shit I can't tell one group from another or one blonde teen queen from the other, they all sound/look the same to me.

Yup, listen to all of those. Didn't get big into the Beatles, stones or Led zep but it's all good. Saw Aerosmith a few years back. Still great.

Hard rock is fun. Did you get into the likes of Def Leppard, white snake, poison, etc?
I can do country for only so long. Did the country line dancing thing when it was all the rage. Saw Brooks and Dunn.

I don't know what life would be like without music. Can't play any instrument other than air...
Had really bad rhythm until disco. You should have seen me try to dance. So needless to say when I tried to play the drums in grade school it was a big flop.

Well, music makes me breath. My iTunes is loaded with so much stuff I get confused. From the Beatles, Aerosmith, shlock rock from the 80's, metal from the 90's, Pop, some obscure local stuff and a huge array of jazz fusion, traditional and 70's to today's progressive, I never have the time to sort through it all. I have a difficult time with hardcore , but other than that (maybe spoken word) I can handle most of it.

Thought I do agree that most of today's "popular" artists are all copycats, that is the nature of radio.

I could go for days on this subject, but it's your blog, doctor. Good topic.

A man after my own heart. Haven't filled up my iPod yet though. still have to transfer my CDs.
Yes sir, lots of new stuff that the kids think is theirs was actually ours or our parents. The are sampling lots of old songs to and the kids don't even know it.
But it's fun. There's a dance version of California Dreaming. And Madonna's like a prayer and a host of others including some that you never would think would make a good dance cut.

I love it all. I'm very diverse in what I listen to and sample from everything.

I have a ritual where every month I go to the CD store. Before walking in I pick a number and that is the isle I will go down. Once there I walk to one end or the other or land somewhere in the middle. I close my eyes, spin and pick a CD at random.

It's a silly ritual that I've been doing for years. I like it because it exposes me to all types of music and because sometimes it has led to major giggles and flirting with men!!! I mean my goodness, what 41 year old woman walks into a CD store closes her eyes, spins and picks out a CD after all? That catches the attention of some rather playful men!!! I like it!!! More though - I like all kinds of music.

I love your little ritual. So cool. I should try it.
Glad I'm not the only one who loves it all.

What gets me going the most is glam rock from the 80's. Poison, Motley Crue, Slaughter... Those guys with long poofy hair and spandex does it for me.

Def Leppard? White Snake? White Lion? Cinderella? Loved Nobody's fool. All good stuff.
Hey how about the Bay City Rollers? I don't care what others say, I liked them.
