Obscure lyrical quote of the day ....2 this time

"strangers passing in the street,
by chance two seperate glances meet...
and i am you and what i see is me...
and do i take you by the hand
and lead you through the land...
and help me understand
the best i can...."

Song: Echoes
Artist: Pink Floyd
Album: Meddle

speaks for itself.... haunting trippy shit here.

"How i wish, how i wish you were here
we're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
year after year...
running over the same old ground
how we found... the same old fears...
wish you were here"

Song: Wish You Were Here
Artist: Pink Floyd
Album: Wish You Were Here

what can i say, i'm in a pink floyd mood...

ok, these aren't all that obscure, but i bet it's been ages since you all heard these... it has for me.

now for the question: how does this apply to you? ...and why?

i'll answer it after you all do...

another Pink Floyd....

"And then I catch her by the eye then I stop and have to think
What a funny thing to do 'cause I'm feeling very pink"

Song: Apples and Oranges
Album: Shine On

as for your question...not sure if they really apply to me at this point in my life...I no longer feel lost...and fears will always lurk inside just a matter of how to accept them and move forward...

The first one applies to me due to a chance "meeting" with someone special, it was not on the street, but AdultFriendFinder has many roads to travel and by chance our glances did meet ..."i am You and what i see is me"....is a very appropriate lyric for the situation.

The second also applies, because i really wish You were here! But that is the only similarity for me...Very, very soon i will no longer be running over the same old ground year after year, my soul has found a home and is no longer lost, therefore all those same old fears have vanished. But i still "Wish You were here!" Soon....

"and i am you and what i see is me..."

This to me can mean to separate things. The first thing that popped into my mind was the Dunkin Donuts man. So busy making the donuts, he meets himself at the door.

Then the second meaning came to me is meeting your soulmate.

Do either of my meanings apply to me? The first one does. The second one may soon. Time will tell.

"year after year... running over the same old ground."

To me this is never doing anything to change your life. You keep running over the same paths, creating ruts and sooner or later you get stuck. This is where my life was six years ago. The best thing I ever did was move to Arizona and get an education. I never would have if I would have stayed in Ohio. I didn't have the confidence to take a chance. Now I can face anything.

The first one I can really relate to. It is much like our interactions here. I think we are all soulfully connected, where ever we meet and the sparkle or recognition in a "strangers" eyes is just that: A remembering of times past, relationships and karmic rewards and debts...that only our soul recognizes.

The second quoe isn't that much different...but a step toward that recongnition and realization of connection..alone but together, walking the same path.

these songs have great significance in my youth... i used to trip heavily on floyd... and the meanings are profound from that stand point.

John Dunn said it best though "no man is an island" paradise lost.

these lines apply to everyone... we're here to end our lonliness.

...That which does not kill me merely pisses me off!...
