...twas the day after thanksgiving...

..twas the day after thanksgiving
and all through the refrigerator
the leftovers were everywhere
...even in the crisper!

not just our stomaches...
but all of my tupperware stuffed!
our bellies' still rounded...
we're all unkerstupft!

for breakfast, for lunch
and even for dinner (again!)
the leftovers keep flowing
guess my cooking's a winner lol!

whatever the reason
this be the season
for way out of proportion
...portion control!

now, what the frick am i going to do with all this @#$%!!!'n food?! it's going to go bad before too long hehe! ...not only can i cook like emeril lagase, but i cook for an army.

the menu:
1 rock cornish game hen
2 colonial style stuffing (my own recipie) 2 kinds, one with oysters and chestnuts, one with oysters and chicken livers... both extremely rich but ohh so good lol!
3 southern style pecan crusted candied yam casarole
4 cranberry relish
5 brussle sprouts
6 assorted veggies used to stuff the bird with
7 a most excellent bottle of white wine
8 carrot cake for dessert

all that and i haven't gained a pound... what's my secret? ...i'll nevah tell!!

in a week the leftovers i can't get to will look like my painting lol!

Dear Sorceror ~

I'll take the painting instead of the leftovers, of which ... I'm sure ... there will be precious few.

I concur with Mizzkitka ... the menu WAS exceptional.

Warmest regards,

This is my blog - Comes With Warning Labels. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Other than the cake (carrots blah) that is good. Where did you learn all this?

carrot cake taste nothing of carrots, try it sometime the carrot is for color... it's a light brown cake with a beautiful cinnamon/allspice flavor.

as to where i learned all this? i'm self taught... i watched a lot of cooking programs such as, jeff smith, justin wilson, martin yan, emeril lagasse, mario batalle and a few others. i also approach cooking as a form of art... the canvas being the plate, the food is the paint... the sences used for it's viewing first, the eyes, the nose, then the tongue. i never use recipies or cook books per se, i always adapt them if i use one (which is almost never) i rely on what smells and tastes good while i'm cooking up my presentations.

some of my favorite cooking genres are french, cajun, thai and chinese.

much of good cooking is an artistic blending of flavors. garner knowledge then experement and it's fun too. my own particuliar recipies are not written down, i keep them in my head for the most part... which is why i cant remember how to make the pallela i used to make years ago lol!

if you're interested... i have a killer recipie for Beef Wellington, very loosely based on what julia chides's is... but i've gassed it up, it's my signiture presentation. it's actually a combination of beef wellington and chateau brion, without the veggies and a few suprises tossed in for good measure.... prep time is a killer though but if you are having a large gathering of friends and/or family, you'll totally blow them away with it, ah garontee! makes for a most excellent christmas dinner too.
