Tuesday, and yes, it is the 4th of July! Hoorah!

I am late getting started on this post, had some student work to grade this morning early. Besides, it is a holiday and the hardest thing I have to do today is try and keep my cool, literally. It is 75 degrees already and climbing. Gonna be a scorcher again today! But, as long as the AC holds up, things should stay cool here in the house. I may run a couple of errands today but not much, it is just to hot to be out very long.
So, no plans for the 4th, just get through it till tomorrow and head back to work. Some life huh? Well, all of that is about to change in a big way so I have to hang on a little longer. It has been almost 15 years since I married my wife, next month to be exact is our anniversary. I am glad she will not be here for that. We just ignored it last year and I hate doing things like that. Those kinds of occasions should be happy ones, but in my case, that has not been true for a long time. It is time to move on and that is exactly what I intend to do.
Wow, it is almost 95 degrees and you can tell this is a holiday, look at the number of reads this post has had. I mean, there is nothing here to read, just my so called life and the crap that happens to most of us. I wonder sometimes, what the hell the world is coming to. There are so many screwy things happening and every time you turn around people are trying to take advantage of someone or some situation. It is so refreshing to find someone who really is not ashamed to get out and work for a living and in turn, enjoy the fruits of their labor. Man, it is what this country was founded on, and that is part of what we celebrate on the 4th and other days throughout the year. Labor Day, you figure it is named that for a reason? Yes, to honor the labor of man and woman in this country. It is why we succeed as a nation and continue to prosper. If we loose the work ethic, we are soon to be extinct as a nation. We have lost a major portion of what makes America great and it looks as though we are going to shed the rest of it. Sad day in history when a country is not over run by warring armies, but done in because the people who lived there no longer cared enough to stop it.
Well, here I am on my last 4th of July where I have to sit home and do nothing. Next year, I will be a few days away from having my divorce become final and I am definitely going to spend the holiday with friends doing something fun. I do not know just what but I will not be sitting here alone typing in my blog. That much is for sure. So, what to do now! Not much! I am just going to be here and hit the sack later on when all the fireworks die down and then get up in the morning and head off to work like any other day. Or at least that is the plan.
I am gonna watch a little TV this evening and then turn in. Nite, nite, peeps and sleep well, but alos, HAPPY 4th OF JULY! Let's hope we are all here next year to celebrate our freedom again. Save some energy when you can!
