I just read a great entry by shannee2006 on intensity.

Her entry started me thinking about my own intensity which sometimes is off the scales. There are times I would like to be less intense, but that would take away my uniqueness.

I’ve come to like the intensity that I feel about myself, others in my life and things happening in the world. I feel more alive as a result of having deep, strong feelings. Intensity allows me the ability to feel at deeper levels than I perceive most of the world living.

Pain is real, love is real, and pleasure is real pleasure. I want to have all of these feelings in the fullest way possible.

If only a kiss is making love, that’s intensity. If a book is strong enough to get you to take action, that’s intensity. If a funeral helps you take actions to bring back an old friendship, that’s intensity. If seeing music played in a way that brings tears to your eyes, that’s the ability to hear and feel in an intense manner.

Over the last forty five plus years I remember people telling me to chill out. I’m glad I didn’t take their advice. Sometimes I can be difficult to be around. Sometimes I’m opinionated. Sometimes I’m blunt. I love people who are intense in how they go through their life. I love it in myself when I see myself strongly and fully living life.

How do you feel about the intense people in your life? Do you think they add value to the world or just a good old fashioned pain in the ass?

I attract all kinds of people into my life. Only the intense ones stick around for any length of time. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world. Thanks for saying hello on my blog.

Yup...this juiciness is from me....

I have to agree with shannee...I've always been intensely intense and yes, the people who hang around for real, lasting friendships are equally intense and complex. I can't imagine my life without would be so mundane!!

If you are strong and push through the pain and the fear, you often find that happiness is waiting for you on the other side.

I agree, intense people aren't always easy, but they are always interesting.......I find they let you be who you are, sometimes with a fight, but in the end they respect intensity in others.
