Why all the fighting???

Everywhere I seem to look at present there is war, fighting, squabbles - from the extreme to the ridiculous!!

Even on this site, in the magazine pages and some of the groups (and I hasten to add, not my group!) people are falling out!

What is the point of all that - aren't we on this site to make friends and have fun?

Would you remain a member of this site if you ended up arguing with everyone?

Why do some people seem intent in stirring up as much trouble as they can and going to silly lengths to do it - making up new profiles etc etc??

To put it simply I think it's because they're assholes. And assholes like to stir up shit. I think it's a power thing. From huge assholes like Bin Laden that gets his kicks telling people to blow themselves up to small assholes that stir up trouble on sites like this.

The only thing you can do is ignore them. In real life you hope they will get what they deserve, a pop in the nose (literally or figuratively) In the cyber world you can't really do that, any respose you give them on here just encourages them....they have power, they're getting attention.

The only bright side is that they make the real people, the ones that are here to make friends and have fun, that much more special when you find them.

My 2 cents worth.

I aggree with overworkedloon, their all power mad assholes. Not that we can't have a difference of opinion, but we don't need to get insulting or upset just because somebody doesn't agree with us. Also, if we don't agree with somebody and feel the need to state our opinion then we need to do it in a way that is not insulting.

Again just my opinion.

Basicaly because some people just suck- I've not really looked at any other groups but have noticed on the magazine threads that some people are just bitchy. Some people seem to gain a huge boost in self-confidence from making other people feel bad- but I suppose you have to feel sorry for them really since they obviously have low self-esteem to need to do it and cos they can't get their self-confidence boosted doing more fun activities

Just a question of attitude... there are people who are not accustomed to have a dialogue on even ground and only see their interlocutors as opponents to beat with "better" ideas. But I think we all have inside a bitchy instinct that we unleash when we face something we really don't tolerate. So, let's say that those people you refer to have a zero-tolerance, which thing for me is always a sign of great stupidity.

See... i've started a trouble stirring thread!

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level then beats you with experience

Some positively strange replies to your post there. As for war and bitchiness - bad news sells and that's why it's constantly at the forefront of the papers, radio, tv. "Car crash" syndrome - we know it's not going to be nice but we must rubber neck.

oh and yummy pics (straying off topic once more)

I have'nt been here long enough 2 c any argybargy yet, but in general, yes, its a power thing. Pity that sad spoons, control-freaks, & arseholes in general can't get their jollys without fuckiing other peeps over.
I have been known to get bitchty, but only with my friends when they're
