My Remembering of 9/11

I remember this day so well as do all of us. I just started a new job at one of the McDonald's on the PA Turnpike. So we had a TV running in there day and night, normally on the news and I saw everything from the start. I couldn't believe how many people were pulling off the Turnpike to stop into the business to watch the TV. It was quiet in there even though the place was getting packed. All different types of people standing there in amazement. Not a sole buying anything, everyone just standing there glued to the TV. You could hear some of the people crying and making phone calls. There were a few people in there that had friends and family working in the Towers. As the day went on everyone in the place had tears in their eyes and disbelief look on their faces. It was a day that had such an effect on all americans. Even to this day 5 years later I still feel the same way as I did on the day it happened. I knew after the search for life was over, that I had to go there and pay my respects to the many people that lost their life that day. The April after the attack happen, I finally made the trip, I didn't know what to expect. There was a long wait to walk up the ramp to look down onto ground zero. It was a very emotional time. I cried the entire time I was there. I wondered as I was standing there in the long line what others might be feeling and thinking. The entire walk up the ramp was covered with pictures and messages to the loved ones that were lost. I wasn't sure I could make the entire walk, to look at what was left. Each step and each picture I looked at was so sad. I am glad I finally did make the trip and got to pay my respects. This is a day no one will soon forget................................Lori
