Brokeback Mountain

I had just finished the film.

For me who watches Lee Ang's works, it is not a surprise to see him making another film about homosexuality.

The first time I watched The Wedding Banquet, I was impressed with his forwardness to make a film like that. The plot is more in a funny tune and it has a happy ending.

Brokeback Mountain is kinda cool as well. Having being nominated in the Oscars, and already won Best Pitcure/Director/Screenplay at the Golden Globes, it definitely has created the absolute awareness and people want to watch it. I was touched by the never-dying-ending love between the two men being torn apart by the unaccepting society of gay cultures. Just like you love someone but could not be with the person.

I have read it in an article saying that most straight-guys would not be interested, the driving force goes to the ladies. Can the real guy be able to tolerate a same-sex sex scene as shown in the film?

I wonder how many straight-guys in here do enjoy watching gay scenes. How about the straight-ladies enjoying lesbian scenes? Is watching a lesbian scene more acceptable than watching a gay scene?

Brokeback Mountain - GOOD SHOW. Who would have thought the most touching love story is about 2 guys? Trust Lee Ang to come up with a gem like this.

Haven't watched the show but if I were to decide on whether I would watch it, it would depend on the quality of the film and not its contents. Homosexuality doesnt bother me as does same sex scenes though I got to admit that lesbian scenes are more appealing.

I have to admit men have their masculine pride and will deny linkage to anything not straight. But I suspect men, including myself, that there's a closet gayness in us wanting to experiment in that fashion somehow, sometime

The last movies I watched were the Lord of the Ring Trilogies. Before that I think it was Top Gun, hmmm... I might need to get out more.

I live in an area where the gay population certainly is higher than the straight ... I think it is difficult enough to find love without putting so many jaded parameters on the finding ... though I haven't seen this movie yet, I have seen its story told ... and I applaud those who love even when the odds have been counted against them ...

It is just a movie...
But the feelings and it is today's situation!
It is good to know and be aware of your surrounding.
Don't be subjective about it.

So to watch or not depends on the contents. I remembered about watching a show talking about gay.. cannot remember what's the title and there were gays in the movie..

It did not bother me... Just don't make it to XXX...

I don't ever go to the movies (15 years and counting), but I think it is a shame if people can't get past prejudice to get to the core of a story.

It wouldn't bother me at all.
