How in the Hell.......!!!!

Ok. I am having a horrible time with uploading photos to my blog. I need your knowledge, experience, tricks, yoUR HELP! Please!

1. What formats are acceptable for uploading beyond .jpg?

2. If a photo won't upload or show up, what does that mean?

3. I uploaded a photo I created and once posted I didn't like it. I have tried to remove it 82 thousand times and upload a different photo. Guess what keeps showing up? The photo I have removed, and removed, and removed. I have waited hours between removing the photo before trying to upload a different one---but POOF! the original upload WILL NOT go away.

4. Where do you all get the FABULOUS pictures you post on your blogs? They are so clear and beautiful!

5. Any other ideas, information, or helpful hints will be totally appreciated.

A big thanks to all of my helpful bunnies!

I found out the other day that you cannot change the photo you upload to your individual blog. You can only delete it.

So I deleted the individual blog and started over and then I was able to upload a new pic.....but I had no comments on that individual blog post yet.

I get my pics from GOOGLE or Yah00. You pick a subject and click on "IMAGES link which is located above the search box.

If a photo doesnt show up, it is possible that it is too "big" for AdultFriendFinder in the blogs. I know that the photos in networks are limited in size. I have had photos rejected in the blogs.

I get some of mine at yourwebness.com and then of course I draw some of them on my computer or elsewhere. If you want some custom stuff let me know I will see what I can do.

if the photos are too big, use your editing program and resample them to a more managable size ie; 3 X 5 inches or smaller if they are still being rejected. Save them as bitmaps or in certain cases as windows paint. Just experiment with the sizes till you get what you are happy with. And also you can use the same program to do any editing in content by cropping out the unwanted stuff.

Ohhhhhhh...thank you Tech Steve!

I didn't have any posts either, in fact I hid it overnight, hoping the first picture would get out of the "system"! I could have deleted the whole post and repasted and reposted. Thank you! That is very, very valuable advice to me. ~~tosses out the No-Doze~~

Thank you for that and the rest of the information you provided.

Juice, I KNOW you create A LOT of your own graphics. But I did remember long ago, when you first started blogging, you mentioned another place. Thank you for posting and provided me with this alternative location. I will be checking it out in a few minutes!

Thanks, sweetie!

Ah! Some more valuable information, Grasshopper!

~Sigh~ Well right there is part of my problem! I've been worried the pictures were TOO SMALL! I was blowing them up! That probably also explains why they were not accepting a variety of formats that I submitted.

I was taking everything and imported it into Printmaster and exporting it back out as a .jpg! Phew! It was getting to be quite the pain the the keister!

Okay. Thank you. All these little tidbits have helped immensely! I tried looking all over this website for guidelines to no avail.

Thanks, HP!

HEE HEE! Knew she'd start blogging eventually. YAY!

Don't worry about the pictures. I'm here for your words.

I like to Google my favorite artists and pick one of their works that suits the tone of the writing.

Do you like Oscar Howe?

JPG, GIF, BMP... all should work. I ain't sure of the size for BLOG posts, but I know the profiles and private albums work up to 400? or is it 600? pixels wide.

If you are having that much of a problem with them (reloading or deleting) and you want to repost the entire entry so you can put up a new photo, just pull up the post in "edit" mode and copy the entire text; then hide the post. Then you can paste the copy into a new posting without losing all the coding. If you copy from the post as it is displayed, the coding will be gone and you'll have to re-enter ALL of the codes. When you have the new post up and acceptable, you can permanently delete the old post. Don't do it until you're ready and won't need the original text.

I always create a posting in Word and then copy the entire source text into the post. Then I rework the posting until it displays what I want and re-copy the post back to Word. (You have to watch the formating issues... Word codes and rich-text isn't straight ASCII and it can screw with the displayed image, so you have to pull up your post in the preview mode to make sure all the non-ASCII codes are gone. Or you can just save your Word file as an ASCII text file, and then pull it up in NotePad or such and create the copy from there for pasting.)

I have a copy of every posting I've made in a Word file for backup, and a copy of every photo is filed in the "Photo" sub-folder within the "BLOG" folder within the "AFFland" folder I keep. Makes life a lot easier to have everything in its place.

One thing you won't find in AFFland is technical info. Except from other users. Sad, but true. BTW: GoddessoftheDawn and Sexyfitwoman are two very well versed ladies in the "art" of HTML.

Hell I'm still trtying to turn the damn camera on and you want technical advice.
Notice all mine are something that my camera can take. This dummy couldn't figure how to do that if his life depende don it. But then photography is not my strong point. lol

There's some good tips here; I haven't had any problems as of yet with posting pics but I would like to get more interesting with my blog. Frames and whatnot.

I'm not very technological so I am not even going to try it any time soon, but I know Hippie had a blog that linked to someone else's blog explaining a lot of stuff, and ONE DAY I will go back there and start testing things out....lol.

I think your blog is turning out great!

Just for your eddifycation, and in case you couldn't find it in my blog HighPockets1938, my replies to your post in there:

Quoting: I now have my own blog, as you know, so......do me, baby! I am finally prepared to participate in all the reindeer games!

1. Respond with something random that I know or think I know about you... A lovely and Definitely a most attractive Lady for certain

2. I will tell you what song or movie or celebrity you remind me of... the bathing scene of Adrien Barbeau in Swamp Thing

3. If your female I will tell you the most likely place that you and I will ever make out... Any where, any time, no d***** everywhere that we can find each other

4. I will say something that only makes sense to you and me. Or at least make some shit up... At least the cankles stop at the knees so far. Any further and they would be a royal PITA

5. I will tell you my first/clearest memory of you... My agreeing that your thoughts about and to Uni were absolutely “right on”

6. I will tell you what your name would be if you were the opposite gender... almost certainly a Doug as in “Ragin’ Cajun” Doug Kershaw

7. I will ask you something that I have always wondered about you... If you were able, and could go, where would you prefer to play “house” with an old geezer.

SW3- Thats all I ever do to get my pics for blogs, is type in one word or a series of words into search and a whole bunch of different pics come up and I just save it to my computer and use it when I wanna upload it. Pages and pages of different pics come up.

********A Hint: If ya want dirty and/or nasty pics, make sure your "safe search" feature on your browser is set to OFF. (hehe)
