I'm High AGAIN!!!! A Chicks blog... for the Women....

Okay, I am having a total chick moment. Talking about the gym and what I eat and how I lost weight and gained weight and stuff that I doubt any of the men that read my blog will be interested in.... SO, here's to the women who are bored or interested enough to read... I love you all!!!

Yes, I started back at my gym this week. I wasn't really into earlier this week. I couldn't get used to it or into the swing of it but tonight was the night! It was GREAT! I was there over 2 hrs. Got my cardio in, abs and upper body weights. I am full of energy and READY to just pounce the next man that wants to meet me. (within reason of course...lol) No, seriously, after about 15 holiday pounds piled on I have been SO bummed. I hadn't been going faithfully since Mid Nov. and I'm paying for it. My size 8's are snug and that means, I have to get my act together. The weight goes straight to my stomach...grrrrr....
I spent the last year being obsessed with the gym. Over 2 hours a day and twice a day tues and thursdays. (I had kickboxing on Tues and Thurs. afternoons) I would even get up at 7am to get to the gym before church on Sunday morning. I was obsessed.(I am NOT a morning person, so that was dedication) My father in law asked if maybe I should just consider having my mail forwarded there. Ha! Ha! I mean, its bad when you know everyone that works at the gym and you have ended up going out with them a few times. (They can't bowl..lol... but neither can I!) I still have at least 3 of the trainers phone #s in my cell but I don't go to that gym anymore. I'm at a different one now... Hmm... $77 a mth or $25 a month. After 9 mths at Spectrum I had to leave for Golds... much cheaper. lol.
Anyway, I ate my rabbit food constantly (salads, guys) and I laid off all fried food and cut out sugar. (that hurt) I also quit eating red meat which wasn't that hard bc I'm not the steak and potatoes kind of chick. Oh and another thing, I cut out any form of potatoes for a year. Everyone would say "Oh, a baked potato is good for you" and I would say... "not the way I eat it...lol"
So, after about 9mths of working out and eating better... I lost 65lbs. Then, Nov. came and I slacked off at the gym, endured 7 family/friend bdays, Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, New Years and my moms bday... GOOD GOD! and I found 15 of those pounds! So, I am happy to say..."I am back on my High and happy to be obsessed again!" I have a few mths before the summer so I have work to do. I think I am going to remain fully clothed on any dates I might have in the future too. Why let a man see my extra 15lbs? lol. He can be patient and wait until I get them off... Yes, good idea. Hmm... yes.

Hey Sassy
I know what you mean about the high you get from a good old asskicken workout. I always feel really pumped and recharged after a hard workout. The best thing is your doing something for your self that only makes you feel better and look better. post 212888

I used to be so obsessed with the gym as well, but that was two years ago. I wasn’t there to lose any weight I just wanted to keep my body toned. Since I stopped going to the gym I gained 5lbs, but I’m happy, my body is fuller and my butt look okay in a pair of jeans. I’m back to the gym though, but this time I just want to lose maybe 2% of body fat, and flatten my abs, as they’re a little bit soft.

Just have to say way to go- I have never worked out a day in my life until I joined the local Y here. After working out I to get on such a high - I feel better - I sleep better and I want to go back and do it all over again.

so good luck and keep up the good work

Some time I wonder if guys are happier.

Their underwear is only $10 for a three-pack.
Everything on their face stays its original colour
They can wear shorts no matter how their legs look.
One wallet and one pair of shoes one color for all seasons.
Their bellies usually hide their hips... [SIGH]
And they can pee standing up

Woohoo girl!! I started my workout routine back up last week--upped my water intake last week and totally revamped my diet.

I must say, I dropped 8 lbs last week, too . I'm guessing the majority of it was water weight. I mean, I was chuggin' water like it was going out of style and pissin' like Niagra Falls, LOL.

BUT, that drop made me high! LOL

I got a bit of a pooch and need to tone in the worst way. I never go by weight, since I do have muscle (under the fat, lol) and that weighs more---soooo, here's to fitting back in my clothes before the whole egg donation thingy I was involved in.

WTG btw on the 65 lbs AND for getting back into the spirit of it all.

I have been back on the exercise kick for a few months now. Had a mini-startup last spring to train for a 50 mile MS Charity bike ride. After a short break I really got going. I've given so many hours to work it was time to make time for myself. Enough of the working til 7 or 8 and eating lunch at my desk. Had no energy left for me. There's lots of resons I work out
I totally missed last week. Did get exercise outside the gym over the weekend. 8 mile hike in the mountains of North Jersey.
When I work out I crank the tunes on my iPod. It really keeps me going. I do something cardio, ususally the exercise bike and then I use the weight machines for upper body. If I'm feeling low energy I at least try to ride the bike or take a medium fast walk on the treadmill. Just to get the body moving. Don't know that I've lost any weight. Usually don't check. Just know how the clothes fit.
So you go, and have fun. Makes life a lot more enjoyable.
S.R.

I've recently joined a gym, too. It's hard to find motivation, at times.

I have a big physical fitness examination coming up, though, and the word is that it's tough to pass. I have a couple of months to get ready for it, so it's no big deal.

It's hard to give up the red meat and potatos! I have a full deep freezer of deer meat, LOL. It's so lean, I'm not that worried about it, though.

I may have to take a hint from SpaceRangerNJ and buy an iPod. I could always take that with me if I head out on this new job, too .

Good luck on your progress! I hope that I can make a similar successful statement in a couple of months!

Good for you that you lost that weight Sassy. Be careful about how you lose it, better slowly as you know through exercise and reasonably healthy food, as then it wont return. But really good to hear how you are working out.

That intensity will help you in the bedroom .... and lucky are the men that will be your exercise ball or indeed rabbit food ....

enjoy,

Quite.

lol, I doubt I would blog about it. . . in fact, if I pass the physical, I wouldn't have much free time at all. . . for at least a year.
