Can you figure this out?

I just thought I would work your brains today....
Does anyone know the third word?

This is going to make you so MAD! There are three words in the English language that end in "gry". ONE is angry and the other is hungry. EveryONE knows what the third ONE means and what it stands for. EveryONE uses them everyday, and if you listened very carefully, I've given you the third word. What is it? _______gry?

I'm heading out for the day... Lunch, shopping, the park, the gym, dinner...then home. I am just oh so exciting... I know.
I hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs & Kisses!!!

I've included a GORGEOUS pic from an amazing photographer today... He's become Mr. Popular lately... Im_your_man77

Ok usually my lateral thinking can get these but this is annoying me. Mr popular nothing! I bet that after just being back blogging a couple of weeks you are more popular than I will ever be. I'll be back to think of that answer later.

One of my students sent me a variation on this so I actually DO know where you are going with it . . . but I'll let you play with some other friends before pointing them in the right direction. Everyone should have at least one chance at answering your riddle, Right?

Hope you're having a good day.

Okay, do you want the short or the ;long answer?

I've come across this riddle before, and the truth is there is no other word in common usagethat ends 'gry' apart from the two you have mentioned... There are loads of archaic and unused words in the English language that do end this way, the predominant one being 'meagry', meaning 'to appear megre'. There are loads of others too - braggry, aggry, podagry, iggry, and even gry itself, an obsolete word for a unit of measure.

The chances are the whole 'gry' thing is there to mislead.

'There are three words in the English language' could/should read: 'There are three words in 'The English Language' - therefore the third word is 'language'. This is but one possibility of a number- it all depends on the woding of the question.

The truth is, there is no answer - 'hungry' and 'angry' are the only two English words in common usage...

Unless, of course, I'm wrong...

You guys are taking this riddle too literally! The third word is hungry! It is a riddle. Not trivial pursuit!! LOL!! This riddle has been around for YEARS!! It was one of our questions in our Senior Games in school.
