It's getting tiring traveling all over the country and never in any one place long enough to meet anyone.

I have spent a lot of time in Florida doing installs in hotels there. I was home for 4 whole days for Christmas. On the UP side a couple of friends and i went gator roping on new years eve, and we even roped a 4 foot gator.... LOL standing on a pier, wearing tuxes.. and yes, there was alcohol involved, but not enough to get us in the water with the gator. This all took place at the Naples Grande Hotel in Naples, Fl. Not long after that we went to the Key Largo Grande Hotel in, yup, you guessed it, Key Largo, Fl.

All of this sounds like I'm bragging, but it really points out how much time I spend alone. (the guys that I work with don't count)... anyway I have no idea where I'm going with this so I'll stop now.

i'm working on installing more hotels...on the plus side i am in ft. lauderdale and will be here til almost christmas, then home for a few days and back down here for several more weeks working on a few more hotels, 2 will be in key west. lucky meee... too bad i'll be by myself. that really sux. all this beautiful scenery and no one to share it with...booo hooo.. ok, pity party over. would love to be able to chat with some people in the area and possibly meet up with a lady or 2 while i'm in the area, because it really sucks not having anyone but co-workers to talk with, if ya know what i mean.

Sitting in my truck... random thoughts....

Ok, here I am sitting in my truck, recharging my laptop so I can finish doing the wireless survey at this hotel in Hattiesburg, Ms. I figured that i should add a little to this blog since it has been a while. To those of you that don't know me, I travel all over the US doing different contracting jobs. I usually install and repair highspeed internet in hotels or install VSAT systems. I love the travel, and hate it at the same time. It gets very boring sitting alone in a hotel room and not very easy meeting people when you are on the move all the time.

Things have been pretty hectic for me in the past few weeks, we moved to our new home! Finally have left the rental world behind and am a homeowner now. That would be the high point of the past few weeks... the low point would be while i was in Virginia, my best friend's wife called me and told me that Phil was not doing so well and asked me to talk with him....she put him on the phone and i talked, but he was so far out of it on pain meds that i couldn't understand a word he said... a little background on this situation... about 3 years ago he went in for a bypass surgery at Duke University and at that time Duke had been sterilizing their surgical equipment with contaminated sterilization fluids (this was in the news) long story short, he got an infection in the bones of his chest and ended up as one of 14 people in the world surviving with no breastbones. he pretty much recovered from that (as best anyone could under the circumstances) and was doing ok. on the day that I got this call, he had evidently gotten upset about the lack of maintenance on his road near his house and ran a backhoe all day. According to his wife, he evidently tore something loose while doing this, and this caused internal bleeding.... Phil passed away in his sleep that night and I was the last person other than his wife that he spoke to. Seperated by nearly a thousand miles for most of the time that i've known him, he still wanted to call me when he knew that he was on his deathbed. That is what I call a friend.. I didn't realize just how much that affected me til about 3 days later when I was signed on yahoo and wanted to BS with him and trade stories like we always did... then it sunk in... I will never talk with him again.... I cried for almost an hour before i could function somewhat normally.... and this over a man that I had only met 4 or 5 times in my life, but chatted with almost daily for over 10 years. ok... I actually feel better by getting this in writing.. hope I haven't bored anyone too much.

but when i look at a profile and see " i am a women that........" it immediately turns me off... are there 2 or more of you?? do you not know the difference between the word woman and women?... i'm not perfect and i admit it, but simple spelling and grammar mistakes always catch my eye..... there is such a thing as spell check and grammar check... i have even turned down jobs because the emails that i receive from the owners of a company are so poorly worded that i am afraid that they won't know how to pay on time (i'm a contractor)... yes, i'm violating my own bitch session here by not punctuating properly... but the difference here is... i KNOW that i'm doing it.
