On Morality

Maybe it's because of all the arguments I've seen on blogs and the Mag, but the issue of debating morality tends to tick me off.

Morality is relative for heavens sake and each person has their own, whether it be based on religion, culture, or personal standards. I don't see why other people attempt to judge another based upon their own opinions. Diversity is a wonderful part of life and it should be embraced.

IMHO, it's no one's business but your own on what you do. If someone doesn't like it, they can butt out and leave you to it. Just because someone sees something as not wrong and someone else does, doesn't mean either of them are wrong. It's simply a matter of choice.

For example, I accept polyamory. It's not for me, but I have friends who are polyamorous. Big deal. It's fun for them, they enjoy it. As long as they are comfortable, more power to them.

If I'm in a steady relationship, I'll be faithful. Does that mean I think everyone should or will be? Heck no. Everyone has their reasons and it's not for me to judge.

I like Guiness. Doesn't mean I look down on those who drink Bud Light? Nope. They confuse me, but good for them.

Honor, morality, it all stems from environment. You could tell a cannibal from South America that he was gonna burn for eating an enemy's heart. Be careful, it might be yours next for din-din. He's not wrong in his mind, you are. Be careful when judging someone.

I wholeheartedly agree with you...
[Even about Guiness, though my personal favorite would be Vondel...]
I think people, especially on this site, should try to be open minded. And I think most are... but there's always the exceptions.
Great post, thanks.
