A boring post

Spent the last few days in Florida with my mother and step father. For my overseas friends, where I live in Michigan it is a little less than 2000 kilometers south to their home in Florida.

She is not doing well. My step father has healed nicely from his surgeries and is something like his old self. Feisty, drives too fast, sometimes grumpy, and I wouldn't have him any other way. For my mother I will be scheduling another short visit south in a few weeks. You watch, I will have spent all my money and time visiting, and won't be able to attend the funeral. Sounds okay to me.

My 13 year old son went with me. And we made a side trip to watch the Space shuttle Atlantis launch from the Cape. WOW! I think that if the opportunity arrives, I want to do that again. Closer next time. We were about ten miles away. Amazing.

And on Sunday morning, an earthquake. 200 miles west of us but got the lights swaying and the old clock chiming. Step father was funny. "Are you doing that?" "No, Angelo, that is an earthquake." "The hell you say!"

I was on-line at the time and had to think about what was happening.

Flight down was flawless. The flight back will be earning someone a letter.

My hope today is that my friends here are well and that their loved ones are near to them and well also.

I am way behind on my reading! There must be 100 posts of yours to catch up on. A perfect way to spend this evening. Thank you all for writing such wonderful stuff to read. lol

Your friend,

Thanks Flo,

I'm off in a few hours to sail just Saturday. Some lessons and a pretty day. I think my 13 year old son is coming along. First time this year. I twisted his paw.

I was going to drive , but something unexpected came up for me.

Well being the social klutz that I am. Just tell the truth to them am apologize profusely. I know that dog house! Must be right there next to mine. lol Yours must be one of the answering howls beyond the fence. (No.no.no. don't say things like that searching for humor, Dean)

But this neighborhood IS kind of like baying at the moon. Late at night tied to our yards, wishing we could run with the pack in the moonlight.

Does sound good, doesn't it just. Is this meeting spot turning into our behind the shed spot? Hahahahahaha I hope you and little Shy are well and that the world treats you kindly this weekend. I am sitting here right now waiting for a ride that is late. Neighbor and son are sailing with this weekend. I kind of feel like solitude but company is normally so rare and welcome I immediately said "come on!" when asked. Wife and son of business associate. I'll be good. And I think the 13 year old is her chaperone. Works for me.

I hope that you two are sleeping well right now.
