Independence Day

As an American holiday, it is far more important to be remembered and celebrated than Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or any of the other commercialized holidays. The close second is Memorial Day. It is because of this one day, Independence Day, the 4th of July and the act that took place on that day that we are allowed to be here in this time and this place with the right to speak our minds and live our different life styles as we see fit. The enforcement and the fight to gain the freedoms and the independence that was declared by a nation on that day 230 years ago came at a great price. It was paid for with the lives of our fathers, brothers, uncles, and cousins; it was paid for by the families that lost these dear souls and struggled to continue without them. The dues are still being paid today, by our military, the guardians of all we hold dear; the dogs of war that protect us from the savages of the world that would threaten our freedoms and our dignities, and our way of life. So here’s to you, all the service people, from the Generals that make the hard decisions down to the newest enlistee, Thank you for the greatest country on earth. Thank you for your sacrifices through the centuries, Thank you for your protection, and service. May you be blessed and guided and cared for tomorrow and all the tomorrows that will follow.
