Reality Check

I was flipping through profiles and noticed something disturbing from two viewpoints. Testimonials.....I always thought they where there to testify about that person by someone who has met them. But I see stuff like this:

"She is the most gorgeous girl you will ever meet. Sweet, Spontanious and naughty at times..

Babes hope to meet you real soon
love ya.. "

Hope to meet? How do you know she really is a she and sweet and naughty? HOW??

So I am disturbed that someone would write about someone else in terms like they know them, but never have met. Their only connection to that person is from the electric ether of the web. Scary and sad.

The other thing that disturbs me is that the owner of that profile actually allows people to testify about them without ever meeting them. Are we that desperate?

I suspect that more than half the people in here are fakes, frauds, pretenders, lurkers, and wantabes. Its cheap and easy to set up a profile, post a few pics that never show a face, and live a different life from the one you have. Finding your joys in cyber sex.

Cyber sex is like cyber leaves you wanting and unfulfilled.

So much for a morning before coffee....

Oh and by the way, I do have a few testimonials, all from real people that have met me and take a look...dare ya.

Interesting post. I enjoyed reading it. I have wondered about that same issue too.

"Cyber food" concept:
I guess folks can be a cyber food junkie, a cyber food couch potatoe (IS there an 'e'? I need to call Dan Quayle -- and yes, I know it is really potato)

Congrats on your real, sincere testimonials you've gotten.
