Grrr baby, very Grrrr!

Mood: (Amongst other things)Aggravated, annoyed, mad, bitchy, angry, irritated, worried, bitchy, enraged, furious, shocked, stressed, frustrated, infuriated, anxious, nervous, numb, overwhelmed, confused, (but mostly) PISSED OFF!

Quite the gambet of emotion, huh? Well they all apply and I have good reason I swear.

My new roommate is frequently out of town for work and notriuosly hard to get ahold of. Danielle the leasing agent for my apartment seems to think somehow I can get into better touch with him than her (not true). I recieved a phone call yesterday after class from Danielle asking me to call her back. Mike doesn't move in until the 1st of August, but he hadn't yet put down his deposit (mine rolled over from my old lease with Greg). I figured she was calling about that.

We played a rousing game of phone tag and eventually she and I got ahold of eachother. She stated to me that she had recieved an email from Mike saying that he was no longer moving into the apartment with me, because he had accepted a job offer in another city.

She was all, "Yeah you didn't sound like you knew about this." Ummmm, NO! Firstly, he took the cowards way out by emailing Danielle. Secondly, he never even told me, I heard it through HER!

The ironic thing about this is that Mike is going into the seminary to become a minister. It seems like a coflict of interest to do what he did. I mean he never even hinted to me that this might be a possibility that this would happen, let alone that he was going to do it! WHAT A FUCKING ASSHOLE!

Apparently, because he broke the lease (after we already signed it on the 13th) he now owes the rental company 3 months worth of rent. The bad part about this is that if for some reason if he doesn't pony up the dough, I have to. That's what sucks about living with another person.

I left him a message, very calmly (albeit 3 minutes long) about how I wanted to know why he had changed his mind and why he didn't tell me. It seems to me that if this was a possibility that he should've warned me or something! I was still in so much shock I even congratulated the dick on the new job. What's wrong with me? So now I either am locked into my lease and paying for the whole year myself, I do the shitty thing like Mike and break my lease, or I can find a new roommate. I think I'm gonna go with option C.

I made some phone calls to friends and told them to keep their ears open for me. I haven't told my parents as they are down in SC still and I don't want to ruin their vacation. They will hear about it Thursday or Friday when they get home, that'll be soon enough.

So I want to know, when did it become acceptable to do this? Who thinks this is actually appropriate behavior? (There are extenuating circumstances I am sure, but not here!) Am I the only one who thinks I was wronged here? WTF is wrong with people today? How inconsiderate can you get? When will the world stop shoving drama down my throat?

My old roommate Greg's first question was, "Well what does that mean for my deposit?" Who cares right now! Aren't you even the least bit sympathetic that I am getting shafted?!

I know the saying, and it applies well here, "I know they say God never gives you more than you can handle, but I wish God didn't trust me so much."

P.S. I want to find his car since he lives close to me and key it. Who wants to go with me? Mags, can I borrow that gun?

Mood now: Emotionally exhausted

Damn baby girl you are having one shitty day. I'm so damn sorry I can't come to the rescue for you on this one and become your new roomie.

That's awful Red I completely agree with you, you were shafted and by a wannabe minister no less... WTF??? I hope you find a new roomate soon, but if you can, do it after July 29th, don't know if you believe in this sort of thing but Mercury is retrograde and is the cause of major malfunctions such as this one so signing any sort of contract during that period could lead to another fuck-up. Sorry hon, hope your day gets better

Your life reads like a weird novel. I would be nervous to be your friend, too many strange things happen to you. I had a roommate that bailed on my early too--it does, truly, suck. I kept all his expensive shit (washer and dryer, couch, microwave, etc) because I knew I was never going to get a dime from him. It worked out fine in the end--I broke my lease; however, the landlord had failed to fix things in the duplex, so I demanded my deposit back per threat of prosecution, and he gave it back.

Be careful walking across the roads too--sounds like you're a car magnet.

oh man... see. That's what you get for a gay roomie. A straight guy would stare at ya all day and be like... "job?" "you mean I have to work?" everything will come out ok. Be strong, you're a woman. Women are strong.

Red, that totally sucks! What a prick. I too have had this happened, but at least I was in college and had mom and dad to fall back on. I feel for ya sweetie! Good luck and try out Mags' idea, he always seems to know the best thing to do...He is always talking about Jesus...

Key it? Why merely key it when we can have the local chop shop boys swarm over it and leave nothing but a shell on cinderblocks? (A shell which we will immediately proceed to burn to a crisp, unless you like your chassis medium rare...)

Maybe he freaked out because it was signed on the 13th...

Mav, I talked to Danielle again, seems she misspoke. If I want any $$$, I have to do the dirty work. The rental company doesn't care who the cash comes from as long as they get it. So I'm stuck in this alone.

PB, Thanks sweetie!

NSA, I may have found a new roommie already, but just to be on the safe side, I probably won't sign until after the 29th. Thanks for the tip!

Goodie, Thanks, I think. (A weird novel? Is that a compliment?)

Dippin', Keep your fingers crossed for me! (No WAY am I moving back in with my parents. I don't think they'd take me!)

Huck, If you feel so inclined, bring it. Just teach me how to use it first, so I don't shoot myself in the foot!

Dzd, I believe you. I'm gonna make the next roommie go talk to the FBI first!

Putt, Mags, and Wordy, Thanks for making me LOL

Boo, The last one was gay. This one WAS straight!

Devil, I knew I should've hung onto that damn email!

Dimples, I AM in college and my parents DO help me, but I think they would change the locks if I asked to move back in!

PK, I never thought about the 13th! I'd say medium well, that way he has to get into the car to see if there is anything still valuable in there. Hopefully it'll still be smoldering!
