Another bike rally

I have another bike rally tomorrow, my first one since the Tour de Paris in July. This one is called Autumn in Bonham. I've never been to Bonham. All I know about it is that it's the hometown of Sam Rayburn, who spent longer than anyone else (16 years) as Speaker of the House. His home, library, and museum are there. I'd love to go through them, but I probably won't have time.

I'm doing the "kiddie" ride, which is 11 miles. (The next longest is 29 miles, still too much for me.) I haven't had the time to train properly for it, what with the change in schedule from my summer work hours, the addition of aikido lessons, and other commitments. But I've ridden farther than that before, and I typically ride between six and eight miles when I do ride. So I'm confident I'll do fine. Besides, the weather is finally gorgeous. Perfect bike-riding weather, as far as I'm concerned.

My bike is in good shape, and so am I. Let's roll!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Funny, I was just thinking about you and bike riding.
I haven't had my bike out not once this year and I am (as you say)sore ashamed.
Just don't let too many of the kiddies beat you.
What kind of bike do you ride, road or hybrid?

It's a hybrid. It's an off brand no one's ever heard of. I just put new tires on it: 700 x 38c, which are pretty big. It's a tall bike for a tall person; no one I know can even sit on it without falling off. And I absolutely love it.

What's really embarrassing is when the kiddies go on past me to finish the 29-mile ride.

If your weather is anything like ours, I encourage you to get your bike out. It's not too late.
