Why Does the Caged Bird Sing?


The caged bird sings...
Never knowing of another existence
Yet feeling there is something...
Something beyond the cage
The caged bird sings...
In remembrance of what once was...
Freedom lost to ride the winds
To soar beyond our touch
Left with only its song
Beautiful, heartrending
Why does the caged bird sing?
The caged bird sings
Because it cannot cry...
