Passing On

My Uncle passed away today,
I wasnt particularly close to him but I did look up to this fella
His death wasnt totally unexpected , he had a massive stroke a long while ago in his 50's, causing him to be partially paralyzed. He managed to fight on and live a fruitful life till now aged 70.
I still remember how he was back before the stroke, a massive well built bloke , who was as I was told an " OG " old gangster back in the heydays of the 1960's.
A husband and father of 4 , he did a great job of getting back on track.
I have a a few family members who have passed on, but the sad thing is that I know one by one I will see them die. Everytime I think of death.. it just opens up a hole in my chest. Is it fear ? is it the sadness of leaving this world and the people you love ? Or is it the fear that once your gone, you are forgotten ?

I feel like closing my eyes now .. and let sleep embrace me, let me dream happy things ...

Big hug!

I am sorry for your loss.

For me, it is the fear of being forgotten and all the things I cherish gone.
