A typical day...err, Night...err, whatever.

A lot of people tend to think that some of us stay online 24/7. I'm here to say, FORGET IT!!

Here's a typical day in the life of NG61 *note...all times are US eastern*

6pm - Average time I get up and start the dreaded process of waking up for the evening.
7pm - eat dinner with my lady, talk about what she's done most of the day.
8pm - either watch the tube, or help my lady with something on the pc, or talk with friends on the phone from here.
930-10pm - start draggin' my sorry ass to the shower and get all 'purdied' up to head to work.
1040pm- kiss my lady goodbye; make sure cat doesn't slip outside.
1041pm - go back in house and get forgotten keys to van.
1050pm - stop at store for soda; plot to kill last minute lottery players who are holding me up from leaving.
11pm - go into work; cringe at the words from 2nd shift clerk "Boy, am I glad you're here!!!"
1115pm- start checking registration cards...making sure previous shifts didn't f*ck things up.
1130pm- deal with woman who calls looking for 'her baby's daddy' cause she knows he's up there in one of the rooms!!!
1145pm - call police for above mentioned woman who came to hotel looking for above mentioned 'baby's daddy'
12mid - clean up lobby...muttering at how grown people can be such slobs.
1230am - with no calls & no walk in guests, set up lap top and go online.
1231am - have to leave laptop and answer 110 requests for wake up calls, 6 calls for incoming faxes, and check in enough walk-in guests to fill out a battalion for The People's Army of China.
1245am- go read a few blogs...a few being Babel, [blog kelli4u2dew], Lusty, kittenkisses24, Whisper, my lady, [blog CuummDrop], barbie, Trav, womenlooking4fun, and many others.
145am - get tired fingers & crossed eyes from reading & commenting to most of the blogs. Step outside to smoke a cigarette.
146am - come in to get lighter.
200am - start writing using word processing program in laptop...copy and paste to AdultFriendFinder blog entry.
225am - spend 20 minutes trying to fix formatting errors due to wp program & blog setup not matching.
245am - start counting drawer...spend 10 minutes trying to find missing $1.67
300am - start daily paperwork, which shuts down hotel pc system, so no checkins or checkouts for about 20 minutes.
305am - deal with 5 pissed off people who come up either wanting to check out or check in while system is down.
315am - process credit cards...curse system for giving 'This page cannot be displayed' error 4 times.
330am - go back to writing...wondering wtf I was trying to write.
400am - newspapers delivered
401am - guest checks out, get into argument as to why the papers aren't for him.
500am - put out breakfast...realize only one gallon of milk available.
530am - open lobby...no one shows up...too early
532am- get back online... a number of guest equivalent to The Mormon Tabernacle Choir hits the lobby and eats like food will be declared illegal in ten minutes.
600am - restock breakfast; looking forward to leaving in an hour.
605am- cursing at call from relief, who says, "I'm going to be a little late!"
700am- close shift...find $1.67 missing at 245am.
745am- after checking out a number of people equivalent to the nation of Qatar, no one is in the lobby as my relief comes in, saying "Kind of quiet in here, ain't it?"
750am - resist urge to kill relief...sneak out door and head home.
815am- get home, have tea with my lady, she asks how my night was, I tell her "the usual".
930am - strip down & crawl into bed, deal with 18 pound grey cat, aka 'the fuzzy gray bastard' sitting on my chest and meowing for treats.

And that's my typical day...what's your day like?

NG61...who wouldn't have it any other way.

It may apear that i stay online and on site alot...half the time its up, while i am running around doing other things. i forget to logout sometimes and such. *giggles* And again i am blessed to have the 24/7 access to the pc. But my typical day starts at 3 am whether i have slept or not. The brother in law has to have me drive him to work, then by 5 am the boys have to be up for showers and school. Then i have dishes lunches laundry all before my 9 am work day at the temp place starts when i am called to go in there. then if not at work, i have pets to care for more damn laundry, floors to sweep, and vac, dusting, shopping, and cooking dinner most nights. I chat in between doing all this, and find time to blog, and comment on others blogs...but i wouldn't change much because i know i am so blessed, when i have evenings like yesterday...when a sick migraine headache put me down, and i had to go to bed... ,My 11yr old nephew made me dinner in bed, of hambergers. He carried it into me and stayed a few minutes to tell me he loved me. Makes having to yell at them when they come in at 3, harder to do. Makes putting them to bed at 9 harder to do. But i would do 24/7 anytime just to hear that little fellow say that he loved me.... worth so much more that money. Thats a good day even when i am feeling as rough as i was feeling. *smiles and warmest regaurds to You and lady* c

the best part about it is when you get to leave it all behind and head home

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

I don't have a typical day It's always not the same. I just need more sleep and lesser time on the Internet.

When I was in the Navy I had a few jobs that required me to work nights. I didn't like it then and I don't suppose I'd like it much more now. That's a tough regimen to follow when your young, it gets worse the older I get. Now when the sky darkens my thoughts turn to sleep.

Two weeks ago I stayed at the Comfort Inn hotel in Franklin while I did some work in the courthouse in Courtland. I was surprised at how much was going on at night. Lots of road crews and construction workers staying in that hotel. Hotels can be busy places, even at night.

Nightguy_1961 replies on 4/23/2006 9:29 pm:

Welcome...I've always worked night shift since I was 18..even when I was in the Navy on the USS Nimitz. I like it because, believe or not, it can be quiet around here some nights...like Christmas Eve. It gets so quiet, you think you're the only person alive on the planet.

You stayed at the Comfort Inn in Franklin?!?!?! Did you see the desk clerk with the ponytail & beard? If you did, a pleasure to have met you!!! LOL Stop in...anytime

Ok, I was laughing the whole way through that. I'm a hotel 3rd shift worker too and can SOOOOOOO relate to everything up there. Thanks for sharing.

So you know exactly what I'm talking about...doesn't it give you a deeper appreciation when you go on vacation and stay at a hotel?

Thanks for stopping by, my dear *smiles*

Whoa!!! Hold the phone, hit the brakes!!!

From your pictures...from what I & my lady have read in your blog...from the email you sent me...you are far from boring.

Don't ever tell yourself that or let anyone else tell you that, my dear friend...I think you're great.
