I made an error when coding up a update for CalTrans. I had added new code that kept actual hiway incident data in one table and another table for generating reports. The problem is that I used auto-increment for the key field on both tables. Somehow one of the tables got out of sync. So transactions that were edited didn't get updated in the reports table cus the key fields were different. No data was lost and I was able to copy the data from one table to the other so they are back in sync. I have to code up a fix so this won't happen again. I'm going to also write a little verification program to make sure that all updates are in place and accurate.

I'll get started on it later. I am hard on myself when I make mistakes. The people at CalTrans don't even think anything of it. I am still trying to figure out how the tables got out of sync to begin with. Any programmers (PERL/MySQ out there wanna talk shop?

wyvernrose, thanks for the offer but I wrote a nice little ditti that checks the exact data for a match to find the right KeyField. I am still banging on it to see if I can break it.
