Twelve Little Cartoons?

The news has been all aflutter about riots in the Muslim world, as they're supposed to be in an uproar over the cartoons published in the Danish paper, Jyllands-Posten. I had CNN on this morning and the news twinkie was saying they can't show the cartoons as they're ever so offensive. Well, that sent me straight to Google to find them.

First I went to Google News. No articles that showed the cartoons, but the articles did make me realize there is much more to this story than meets the eye. The cartoons were published in a book on the life of Mohamed back in September. It's the beginning of February. hmmm... The plot thickens. So, I did a plain old websearch.

It didn't surprise me at all to find one of the first hits was Michelle Malkin's website. Of course, she published the cartoons, but not the entire story, in her complete Neo-Con, only tell half the truth fashion, to prove her point. However, she didn't exactly do her homework properly, or there never would have been a link in her blog to the zombietime website, which has a page that depicts Mohamed in art, through history.

There are some interesting things there and it's well worth checking out. They do point out that it's been non-Islamic artists through time who have shown Mohamed's face in art. Most Perisan and Middle Eastern art depicting him shows him without a face, which is well in line with the Qur'an. But as I went through the art work and parodies that have never caused an outrage, from a 1928 German ad for bouillon extract depicting Muhammad being led to Heaven by the Archangel Gabriel, to the South Park Super Friends episode to a Spike TV game parody, I truly realized there is more to the story than what the mainstream media is telling us. It's called rational thinking, people.

Well, the people at zombietime are on the ball. They had the twelve cartoons and a bit extra...

A Danish delegation of imams, led by Ahmed Abdel Rahman Abu Laban went to the Middle East to discuss the depictions of the Prophet with Islamic scholars and leaders. Danish intelligence has linked the Palestinian Abu Laban to Islamic groups who have an agenda. Well, he and his delegation put together a booklet with the twelve actual cartoons and a little something extra. Three cartoons that were NOT included in the book about Mohamed. These cartoons depict Mohamed as a pig, singing into a microphone, Mohamed being butt fucked by a Dog and Mohamed as demonic pedophile. (Well, his favorite wife was just 6 years old when they married and 9 when it was consumated.) In other words, Abu Laban and his friends have an agenda, are out to screw the Danish government and broke Sha'i law massively by mocking up these cartoons. It looks like a few imams won't be getting their virgins when they die.

This booklet, complete with the cartoons that were made up by the delegation were distribute freely during their tour of the Middle East. Abu Laben said about the booklet, "We want to internationalize this issue so that the Danish government will realize that the cartoons were insulting, not only to Muslims in Denmark, but also to Muslims worldwide."

The delegation of imams claims they let the people they talked to know that the three extra cartoons were fakes, that they made up. No one has been able to verify this claim and it is the booklet with the three extra cartoons that have been burnt at protests. These extra three cartoons were a deliberate attempt to cause trouble, created by a man who once said, "mockery against Mohamed deserves death penalty."

So now, the ignorant masses are out there boycotting Danish products and calling for deaths of all the wrong people. It was one of their own who is actually tempting suicide by fatwah. Yeah, like that will happen. On al Jazeera, Abu Laben is praising the boycott of Danish products while going on TV in Denmark and speaking out against it. Talk about playing both ends against the middle.

Now, as a result of the American mainstream media not telling people about these three extra pics from the booklet, they are fueling more hate against Muslims. It's making the ignorant masses look like they're all hate mongering extremists. (I know some of them are hate mongering extremists.) It's making them look like they're all crazy. Now, before you tell me I'm defending a bunch of terrorists, think about it. How many Christians would be amused at a cartoon showing Jesus being butt fucked by a dog, or as a pedophile? Or even as a pig? Think about what went on in this country when John Lennon said, "Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue with that; I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity." What did church congregations do? They had huge bonfires of Beatles records and other merchandise. In other words, exactly what Muslims are doing now with that booklet.

The artwork? An Arabian medieval piece, showing Mohamed re-dedicating the Black Stone at the Kaaba. In spite of this being done at Mecca by an Arabian artist, notice his face is visible.

WOW! That is amazing info. I can't help but that notice that the fake multi-profilers do the same ting on a smaller scale and with much less consequences on this website. They flame people, spread false information and create strife for their own agenda.

I guess there a lot of people with the same mentality throughout the world. It jusy makes you shake your head in disbelief.

Thanks for a great blog post.

The whole middle-east is a pitfall, something we have no business being involved with. Nothing that goes on there suprises me.

The culture, the religious extremists.

I see the point of your analogy to the Christians, though they don't quite go and massacre people they disagree with - yet.

One last thing: John Lennon may have been a martyr.....but he never capture the word of the common man like Johnny Cash.

That's my word.

Piss Christ! Piss Christ! Piss Christ!

Thank you for your research, A.

The reason you don't see Muhammad icons is because Muslims take the whole idolatry thing way more seriously than, say, Catholics.

But you know what? I've lost the empathy and concern I once had for them. The only sane leaders of that religion are already in the States, and if Bush decided to turn Damascus into Dresden, I doubt I'd be all that upset.

Here's the thing... they justify murdering American civilians by saying that civilians in any Democracy are free game since they elected their leaders. Hamas just won 70% of the Palestinian vote, and they will not renounce their mission statement of destroying Israel and killing every Israeli baby.

Well, I guess it's open season on Palestinians.

I think from the beginning we should have stayed out of it and let Israel handle it's own problems which they are certainly capable of doing. It seems that we are the only buffer between the Palestinians and certain death and displacement.

Peace between those two is the impossible dream.

Hey MissAnnThrope,

I posted and article on this subject in the Rants and Raves and in my blog based on your blog. I don't mean to be using your blog to adverise my blog and articles but there were some interesting replies that people should read also. Interestingly, one guy thought that the Jutland Press was wrong to publish the cartoons and that no one should publish things that are offensive to others and that the Danish Government were wrong to allow the newspaper to publish the cartoons. Some people have absolutely no idea of what is is like to live in a free society with freedom of speech and press. They love government oppression when it suits their agenda. (Shaking my head in disbelief.)

papy, I have no idea, really why the mainstream media isn't pointing out there is more than meets the eye. I've been told by friends that a few sources are starting to report on it, but none of the biggies.

Thanks emerald. I've never been one to believe hype, it's just something my mother taught me, so my sister and I would never fall victim to mob mentality.

header, people will always create strife and drama for their own agenda. It seems to be human nature. But to break your own laws to do it...

MACbone, how would that work, with you bearing my children? I didn't know men could get pregnant. But hey, as long as I don't have to get pregnant myself, it works for me.

Redneck, we really do live in a freaked out world. It doesn't exactly make me feel confident about the future of humanity.

Dysgyzed, the link is still there. However, when I tried to get to the archive right from the Zombietime website, my connection was refused. Going in through the post on Michelle Malkin's blog though, I got right in and that was about 15 minutes ago. So, as much as I hate to say it, you're probably going to have to go to her right wing blog and hit the link for the zombietime site through her post on the subject, from January 30th. I really do hate to tell people to visit her blog. But she also has links in posts on the subject on where to buy Danish products. We really are in the end times if I'm referring people to a NeoCon blog.

Division, this is something that's been building since the Reagan years. The fundamentalist Christian agenda, how they believe we are in the end times and the Rapture and Jesus are coming. So, they are creating wars in the Middle East, as they want to bring on the end times. The final battle of good vs. evil. The idea of Christianity good, Islam evil goes back to the Crusades. Even Dante's Inferno has Mohamed in Hell. In other words, the fundies who are waiting for the Rapture, who claim to value human life, are rooting for this to lead to the battle of Armageddon and for 2/3 of humanity to die in a flash. And Johnny Cash may have spoken for the common man, but he'll never get his martyrdom the way John Lennon has.

Thanks Nikki.

Thanks Green Tea Boy.

Voodoo, don't you know that Catholics aren't real Christians, as they defy the fourth and fifth commandments?

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

There are more Old Testament verses saying you shall not make any idols. Catholic churches are full of them, but instead of idols, they are called icons. Think about the number of Catholics who kiss the feet of Christ on the crucifix or the feet of statues of saints. Fundamentalist Christians take the idoltry thing seriously. You're not going to find a Sacred Heart hanging in any of their houses.

Now, Hammas has said they're willing to work with the Israeli government and Israel has told them to fuck off. This was reported in the mainstream media a day or two after the elections. But it's not open season on Palestinians. Yet. You're not following the Bush agenda. Iran is next. From Frist to Rice, they are all making a case for invading Iran. Like we even have enough troops for the wars in Iraq (which was declared over) and Afghanistan (which still rages, but is forgotten).

Division, we can't stay out of Israel's problems with a born again in charge. Armageddon is in Israel. It is where the final battle is to be fought. Therefore, the state of Israel is to be protected, so Jesus can come back and most of humanity can be destroyed. Sadly, I don't see humanity going up the way the Rapture types think it's going to happen. I'm thinking all the nuclear warheads are going to be put to use and very soon. Just because the cold war is over and the USSR is no longer a threat, it doesn't mean someone isn't itching to push a few buttons.

header, since you don't want to link to it, I'm linking to your post Risking Your Life for Free Speech myself. Feel free to plug, as long as it's on topic. The rest of us do it.

That wouldn't be the first time a cartoon pissed someone off. I was involved with a contraversile cartoon afriend of mine created, that I co-wrote sometimes. For the story, check out The Legend of Chung Fu.

I don't know, MissAnnThrope.

I see your point about possible nuclear war, though I don't take such a conspiracy driven angle on it. Do you really see this so deeply, that what's really at stake here is the Christians' endgame? I just think Bush is projecting the typical US stance on Israel being that the influential Jewish community here won't let us be neutral in that conflict. You really think all the people in charge are really that hardwired for this christian agenda? I know Bush is, but it would take more than him to make it actually happen. His whole cabinet and staff would have to be down with that and I just don't see it happening. Christians are a big reason Bush was elected and subsequently re-elected but initiating WW3? That's a reach, IMO.

Out of curiousity, who do you see pushing the button if not us?

Speak on this.

Good post and very informative. Still protest is fine, burning buildings and killing people because they ridiculed your religion is overboard. Those who oppose secular freedoms of print and speech are seeking to create a theocracy and must be repulsed if secular Western civilization is to continue.

As for Iran's nuclear aspirations, I expect Israel will eventually do to them what it did to Iraq. And everyone will secretly cheer.

Thanks gata.

Nick, have you seen the retaliation cartoon with Anne Frank post coital with Hitler? The Jews aren't protesting.

Division, the core belief of Fundamental Christianity is, 144,000 Jews from the 12 tribes MUST convert to Christianty during the tribulation and the borders of Israel must be secured. Only then can Christ come back. This is something you can look up. This is why Pat Robertson is so pissed off about that tiny bit of land being handed over to the Palestinians. Who will press the button? Dunno.

red, I agree. It is getting out of control and they're attacking a bunch of nations now. This isn't going to turn out well.

And everyone... It would seem the source of the pig-faced Mohamed with the microphone has been solved. It was from a French pig-calling contest. The Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet has exposed it as a hoax. This is about all that's been translated by American bloggers so far...

Ekstra Bladet does an ambush interview with Ahmed Akkari but he’s uncharacteristically quiet on the matter and basically says “no comment”. Apparently Akkari has already decide beforehand to not to say much since he doesn’t trust EB to “discuss it in the right context”.

EB speaks with Jacques Barrot, the innocent pig squealer, who says “he is schocked” and states: “I don’t want that picture used for propaganda in one form or the other, be it for or against Islam”. “If the picture has been used as some kind of propaganda I’ll have some lawyers look at the case”.

AP photographer Bob Edme is also “astonished”and says “I can hardly remember that picture but it sounds completely bizarre”. Edme and the Director of AP who owns the copyright said they will consider taking legal action against the Imams.

Ekstra Bladet, critical of immigration in general and the touring Imams in particular, refer to the two Imams in their editorial as “old, two-tongued Abu Laban and the young smooth Ahmed Akkari”.

Now they just have to find the source of the dog butt-fuck pic and the pederast one. However, as the world media is ignoring this and only a handful of bloggers even care, I don't expect the riots to end, or for the imams to be brought to the Islamic justice they deserve. I also doubt anyone will apologize.

"...if Bush decided to turn Damascus into Dresden, I doubt I'd be all that upset."
"Well, I guess it's open season on Palestinians."

This is the sort of attitude which leads to escalation of tension, retaliation, counter-retaliation, bloodshed, ultimately war. This attitude is exactly the same as that displayed by muslim terrorists, except it's on the other side of the fence. You are a very scary man and unfortunately there are enough of you with a vote to make you dangerous as well as scary.

valleyrat, this is more of a propaganda issue. It's ok for the imams to make up something, which literally calls for their own deaths and blame it on someone else?

jazzhead, Voodoo scares us all. But he's mostly harmless.
