Standards much?

That's something I want to know--how do you establish your standards? We all have our physical standards; for me, I like tall men who have a more athletic build (men like my husband, actually!), and I tend to vet the emails I recieve accordingly. Does that make me shallow?

Also, what about personality/intelligence standards? Is it wrong that I'll delete any email that misuses apostrophes or is rife with misspellings? Am I going to miss something if I only consider men who have degrees? I'm realizing that if I'm really going to do this--and enjoy it--then I need to have a connection with my partner. I'm relatively well read, I've travelled and lived in a foreign country, I have an appreciation for art and sports and blah blah blah blah...and I'd love to have smart conversations in addition to uninhibited sex.

So, let's recap. In the course of less than a week, I've gone from finding a man or two to fuck me senseless to finding one smart man to fuck me senseless. What's a little disturbing to me is to reread this and realize that I've got a smart man who loves me here at home. I guess I just want more, you know? It's hard for us to get the temperature back up when we've got a curious eight year old right in the next room, and sometimes I think he'd like it if I was able to have those needs met elsewhere.

Okay, score stands at Standards-1, Random Sex-0
