omg this is so cool hahaha

I just installed office 2003 professional (that's not the cool part).

I just configured the Dictation routines so now.. my computer does what I literally TELL it to. I talk and it types, if I say commands then it does them. omg hahahaha I love this

I can open notepad or word (or any office program, or any program that has a text box, such as yahoo messenger or this blog)... and talk, it types it.. I can say "Select All, Bold, Center, Font Times New Roman, File, Save, Exit" and it does it. I can use it to do all sorts of stuff: menus, buttons, commands, typing, style editing. If I have a yes/no dialog box,, I can say "yes" or "no" to activate the yes/no buttons

nah, the software isn't perfect. It's like a child, or an adaptive firewall. You have to teach/train it. The more time you spend training it, the more accurate it will be. I have a rather strong southern accent so the "You speak, it types" feature doesn't work well with me. It misses almost every word. It tries to guess what I said and it spits out words that sound similar, but aren't what I said. I basically use it for voice commands. It speeds up tasks.

I can just select specific text (or all text by saying "select all") and just say "bold, italicize, font arial" and I don't have to make a click. Voice commands are what I'm going to be using this mostly for since I don't speak accent-free.

Other than that, yes, I have a new toy
