What Kind of Orgasm

What Kind of Orgasm do you Experience?

Choose the one that most often applies to you:

1) I have an orgasm only with clitoral stimulation.

2) I orgasm primarily from clitoral stimulation with some vaginal penetration.

3) I use penetration and clitoral stimulation equally to achieve orgasm.

4) I orgasm primarily from penetration, with some clitoral stimulation to achieve orgasm.

5) I orgasm through deep penetration and thrusting only.

1: Vulvic (Clitoral) Orgasm
2-4: Blended (G-Spot) Orgasm
5: Uterine Orgasm

Information based on Josephine and Irving Singers research that is contained in their book The Goals of Human Sexuality, 1974.

The Clitoral Orgasms

The commonly recognized clitoral orgasm is also known as a vulvic orgasm. It is characterized by involuntary, rhythmic contractions of the PC muscles and does not require penetration. Multiple orgasms and insatiable feelings occur most easily with this type of orgasm.

Vulva is the proper term for the exterior female genitals. Since the clitoris is part of this exterior area, people will know it as a clitoral orgasm and not a vulvic orgasm.

Clitoral (vulvic) orgasms involve rhythmic contractions of the PC muscles, feel insatiable, and can be achieved without penetration. Heavy panting is the type of breathing that occurs with a clitoral orgasm.

The Uterine Orgasm

The uterine orgasm is subjectively experienced as deeply emotional, involving no rhythmic contractions of the PC muscles. The Measurable emotional changes that characterize the uterine orgasm involve emotional expression-making sounds-and the “apnea response.” This apnea response causes the larynx to temporarily suspend the breath during orgasm and then to exhale it explosively, as occurs with other emotional reactions, such as laughing, sobbing, yawning, or screaming, providing the same release of tension. The uterine orgasm is dependent upon deep and rapid thrusts that jostle the cervix, which stimulates a large, sensitive membrane (called the peritoneum) which lines the abdomen and protects the organs of the abdomen and pelvic area, including the uterus. The uterine orgasm is most frequently a single, deeply satiating orgasm. This orgasm is rarely experienced by most women.

It is possible that one of the largest reasons that more women do not experience uterine orgasms very often is due to the fact that when many men and women have sex today, it is done with little or no emotional feelings at all. People don’t just screw one another physically but they screw one another emotionally as well. Without a deep emotional connection, a woman’s body will remain tense and therefore hinder how much pleasure she can truly experience. Emotional feelings can lead to a woman being very calm and relaxed, therefore it is no wonder that women who “love” their partners, achieve higher, more pleasurable states of orgasm.

Uterine (vaginal) orgasms are deeply emotional and satisfying, and take place only when something, such as a penis, dildo, or fingers, is in contact with the cervix. Strong, deep, quick thrusting jostles the uterus and stimulates the sensitive peritoneal membrane, which lines and protects the organs of the abdomen and pelvic area. These orgasms do not involve the rhythmic contractions of the PC muscles. Breathing is suspended (the apnea response) for twenty to thirty seconds just prior to sexual climax.

The Blended Orgasm

A blended orgasm combines elements of the clitoral and uterine orgasms. This is commonly called a “vaginal” or “g-spot” orgasm. A blended orgasm combines the involuntary contractions of the PC muscles that occur with the clitoral orgasm AND the feelings of a deeper physical and emotional satisfaction that occur with the uterine orgasm. The apnea response at the moment of orgasm often occurs with the blended orgasm, although it is less pronounced than in the uterine orgasm. Multiple orgasms can occur in the blended orgasm, or one orgasm can feel like it is enough.

Due to the multiple types of stimulation involved with a blended orgasm, ejaculation is frequently a result. By stimulating multiple areas, it helps to distract a woman from fixating on any one pressure or movement which in turn allows a woman to “let go.”

The blended (g-spot) orgasm involves a combination of clitoral and uterine stimulation and has characteristics of both types of orgasms, including the uterine orgasm’s emotional involvement and the clitoral orgasm’s PC contractions. The breathing suspension (apnea response) is brief and repetitive. Suction of the cervix/uterus occurs with this orgasm, as well as pronounced “tonic” feeling from relaxation of the deep vaginal (uterine) muscles.

All of the above. No one has been able to count the number of orgasims that I have in one 'play session'. I think, at least in part, the key is to engage her mind first, the rest will follow.

I'm glad I discovered your blog. Awesome ... totally awesome. Will be busy reading much more of your work Thanks!!

Just reading about it got me hot. I'm fortunate to be able to have a lot of orgasms and all kinds. I've even had one without being touched around my pussy, just getting really excited being with a man, having him touch other parts of my body, etc. So much of it is in the mind too, feeling aroused by someone.

So far as i know, i never have. But a former partner "experimented" on me... seems my body goes through all the physical indications of orgasm... though if i recall from earlier reading that those reactions (flushed skin, etc) can be signs of orgasm or just deep arousal. But i don't orgasm. I just go from "on the edge of a cliff about to fall over" to "middle of a flat plain with no cliff anywhere in sight and totallyl bewildered". though i do still feel happy and relaxed (though mildly frustrated) afterwards.

Yes....to all 5...some are a lot easier than others, but I am fortunate to be able to orgasm each way....but it also depends on my partner and how well we click with each other and how well he is at finding the right spots. However, it doesn't happen every single time ...but does happen often enough to keep a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye.

Sometimes i have only one type sometimes all orgasms. That is one of the wonderful things about being a woman. Sometimes I cum once sometimes 10 or more times. Often it depends on my mood.

I have only recently begun to realize that I'm not like most women. I consider myself lucky to be able to have amazing, powerful utirine orgasms, and I feel unfulfilled by less now, I think

I haven't tried to have an orgasm ONLY from clitoral stimulation for years. To me, masturbating or foreplay or sex...I like to get started on 3 on the list above, and work from there.
