Switching Gears...

Well I am switching things over a little bit…

Cable internet is great but since I don’t play online games anymore, having to pay extra money for a fast internet connection is rather pointless (wastes money).

I have switched over to just using my cellular phone as my connection source. The cable I need is in the mail and may not arrive till April 5 to the 7th. The cable gets shut off on the 3rd so I might be gone for a few days.

Aside from that, I am writing a little less these days. Things are really crazy at the moment with everything that has been going on. I still spend time reading and such but I am also starting to spend more time down at the library so I am not spending so much of my own money on books. According to my receipts, I spent almost $35,000 on books last year. Thankfully, some of those books didn’t cost me anything because H&R Block was able to use them as tax deductions.

I also have had to spend several hundred hours over the last 3 months typing up business letters to publishing companies. I have sent in drafts of some of the chapters I have written as well as sent in letters asking for permission to directly quote material from certain books.

I have been given permission from them to quote anything and everything I want as long as I am not making a profit off of it. When it comes time to publish my book, I have to give them a small amount of money in exchange for quoting the material.

As of yesterday, I have mailed out a total of 624 letters in three months. I am all done with that process though. Surprisingly, I got a response from all but 52 of the letters I wrote.

The biggest complaint I use to get from other bloggers was that I don’t read or comment enough on other member’s blogs. This I am changing a little bit as yesterday I was finally able to surf some blogs. Many of the one’s I looked at I did not leave comments on though. It wasn’t that I disliked them; just sometimes something is written well enough that you don’t have anything to add.

I would like a few suggestions from people on some good blogs to read though. I have been a little out of touch for awhile and can’t seem to find many blogs that are similar to mine. If you have some suggestions for me, by all means… let me know.

The only writing I do will probably be within finishing up the drafts I have started and previously posted. Aside from that, I will just be doing some random discussions and polls.

I have enrolled in 3 writing classes at the local college starting in September 2006. I know these are going to involve a great deal of work so I am trying to relax a little in that department.

When I was 18, I only wrote Erotica till I was 20. I switched gears to doing research and writing factual bits. Now I am having trouble getting back into developing characters and writing erotica again. Two of the three classes are meant for writing novels. Even though I may not learn a lot, it should help with character development.

I need to get into the habit of writing erotica again because I need it as examples in my book. While being factual is great, facts can become very boring to some people. With the use of erotica though, I can switch gears in the middle of my chapters and apply to factual information to an erotic scene that would show people how to more specifically apply techniques and positions.

This is true Demonic

I don't consider very many types of writing to be "useless" though. They all have their uses for something or someone.

If I was, I would say "sure!"
