Beauty in Strange Places

This morning I put in a few hours at one of the local VFWs serving breakfast to the public. We do this for a very small donation usually once a month. Most of our customers are post members and most of them are senior citizens. I am sure there are some veterans on this site and there may even be a few members of the V or the Legion as well. Most VFW's are not known for their elegance. That's ok.
This morning to my total delight, we had a keyboardest playing who plays in a local rock band. This was the first time I had heard him play, he was there to practice.
Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart and more came from the speakers. The pianist had studied at Julliard and it showed. He told me he was a little afraid people from his band would show up and want to hear Van Halen.
As the music played Scarlett came to call. She had once turned me on to some beautiful music so perhaps it was no more than a function of association. And perhaps it was more. But it was certainly refreshing to have beautiful music and beatiful memories in the most unlikely of places. And it has been 50 in Feb. in New England. Amazing.

Dan Especially eyes cleaned with tears.
Goddess Thank you. As much as I hate being cold, it is hard to complain about global warming.
