Reflections on AdultFriendFinder - Week 1

It's been about a week since I joined and started working on my Blog. Here's a progress report for week 1.
1. The Blog has given me an opportunity to get a bunch of things off my chest that I had nobody to say them to. While I've had some feedback, the most important part was venting and sharing, not the number of readers or responses.
2. Of the feedback received, two posts are from women running the two most widely read Blogs on the site. Now that's a treat. Thanks Huny and Purry for making the new guy on the site feel part of the community. And thanks to the rest of you that took the time to respond to my posts.
3. One of my biggest challenges in being newly single has been meeting new people. In one week I have interacted with more women on a personal level than in the previous three months. I'm not sure where that's going, but it's a really good start.
4. I enjoy posting responses to other people's Blogs. I wish I could find the time to read more of your posts and contribute.
5. I joined the Mad City group this weekend, and posted my first message. That nice group of folks has already made me feel welcome. Thanks fellow Madisonians.
6. My previous Blog post is my first poem since high school, a tribute to my daughter's recovery from her brain injury. The mere fact I was able to post something that personal using poetry is a tribute to how quickly you all have made me feel comfortable.
7. I like some of the interactive features like the wink (only used once) and the fact you can see who's checking you out. It directly parallels glances and winks in the real world. So far I'm being short of shy. We'll see how I'm doing a week from now.

Overall I'm very pleasantly surprised. When you first log onto AdultFriendFinder, you get the impression all folks are interested in at AdultFriendFinder is sex. It probably has a lot to do with the images on the opening screen. But while sexual themes run throughout this site, the interaction between people is much deeper and on a much broader level than I originally suspected.

I think I'm going to like it here.

Yep, it is fun. I like it and it takes awhile to get people that will read you on a regular basis.

Like you, I was hihgly skeptical of the site initially. In fact, after creating my profile, I waited months before checking in. But when I took a moment, I found many of the same things that you have discovered. While there are certainly dark clouds on the horizon, there is certainly plentiful sunshine as well!

Welcome aboard.

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...
