Failure is the reason to strive for success.

Does that hold true for you?

What do you know of it?

Would you not agree that we are a country lacking in drive and motivation?

That we are coddled, and hidden from failure, because in someway it will make us happy?

But how can we appreciate happiness, if we are protected from pain?

I know one truth, the one thing I have lived my life by.

I appreciate because I can feel, I know my heart can sing, because it can sing the pain, as well as the smiles.

"I am the lizard king, I can do anything" - Jim Morrison

K - that is my favorite quote of all time. You just got to love Morrison!

There is no room for failure. We all have tasted it and that is what drives us to greater heights the next time. Society does coddle the youth so that everyone feels good about themselves. It is the one reason I am tough on my son. I want him to realize that life will kick him down now and again and he should be resilient enough to pick himself up, dust himself off, and get right back on!

I was listening to Colin Cowherd on the radio and he was talking about the very same thing. Made me think a little about it. Funny he was talking about Highschool football teams in CT, and how they are legislating a mercy rule so that certain teams don't get beat 55-0 because they are worried that the kids on the losing team aren't taking it very well.

Isn't there a conspiracy theory about all the important people in the world being lizards?!

I keep hearing on late night conspiracy radio that the lizard people are going to take over the world!

"People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain." -- Jim Morrison

Do you ever wonder what he would have been like if he was born in 1975?

He said these things in his 20's, early 20's at that, Its amazing to me that his view of the world and life in general was so open at such a young age, just goes to show that wisdom does not appear in the old, but the young as well.

I hope that I never find myself blinded and that I will be able to hear the voices of today screaming to be heard. If we go deaf, then all is lost.

There have been a few threads lately regarding how children are brought up these days. Chivalry, respect etc. This to me, is in the same vein of thought. I am what I am as a result of my parents. Chores, music lessons, earn what you desire and the list goes on. I know, that I personally, always enjoy all the more, those triumphs and successes that come at the end of effort on my part.

Great post and I love Jim Morrison!!!

I've been away for awhile at a Blogger's convention and am just now getting caught up on all the reading I missed while away. Just read all of your posts I missed. They're all great as always, but The Scream is very powerful! That one really got me and gave me cause to pause and read it again and again! Very powerful.

Good to be back and see that your blog is still as incredible as ever!!!
