Hold Her Down

Hold her down
Take her arms and hold her down...
Until she stops kicking
Take her arms and hold her down...
Until she stops moving

To have something taken from you, to be violated in any form. Your body, your mind your personal things. Let's not forget your dignity, your pride, your love. Don’t. Please stop.

And they don't know her
but what the fuck
they've got nothing else they can do
and they've no reason
but still they come

Pleading, going numb, letting it happen because you are powerless. You fought but were overpowered. Now in this moment everything is changing against your will. Shut your eyes, let the tears fall, the moment for fear has passed as your soul is being sucked away from you being tainted and stained by worthless and vile creature.

And I
would have a hard time facing you
this crime
the shame of what a man can do

Friends, lovers, family, no one who knows will ever look the same. The looks, the pity, they had something taken away from them as well. There is always more then just one victim of anything, even if you took the brunt, even if you can never be the same, neither can those around you. Trust is lost.

Take her arms and hold her down...
Until she stops screaming
Take her arms and hold her down...
Until she stops breathing

There is no return, there is no forgetting, it happens again every time your eyes are closed. What could be the use of trying again? The perverted are always watching, the predators will always hunt and take what is not theirs. Stay inside, and be afraid of everyone.

And they don't know her
but what the fuck
they've got nothing else they can do
and they've no reason
but still they come

You are left with the bitterness, the shame; a world of numbness now lies at your feet and unfolds its nothingness before you. Your body ruined, your mind turned into blackness. You can never go home again. Forever lost in a world of bad timing and pain.

And I
would have a hard time facing you
this crime
the shame of what a man can do
I would have died
From all the hell that you've been through

They can't look you in the eye and see your anger, your cold heart beating slowly in your chest. The power of your tears is enough to make anyone weak. But you legs can't hold you up; they fail any attempt of strength. You are left broken, and can never stand again. There is no one who can help you.

Take the night back
all they've stolen
all we took from you

The song is hold her down by toad the wet sprocket, and the bolded part are my thoughts between lyrics written as I thought them. I wasn't going to post this, but I had to share it. After re reading it, I do realize it does appear that I was thinking more about physical , but I wasn't really. I was thinking more of the of mind and heart and innocense.

I agree with MOfun...it's very much the same.
anything taken against one's will is...an act of Godlessness

I totally agree with the above posts. I just wish I could rip the beating heart from the chest of the person who took from me. That might help!

Either way, it is the same. And this was beautifully done and very sensitive. Having been through this myself....I can tell you that it is only through the love of those around you that you can begin to accept who you are now. My anger is at myself for my own stupidity.

Am I in the right blog? Is this the same guy who dared to take on the "bitches" of blogland?

Wow, if you were anywhere near me I'd probably have to buy you a beer for that post.

Very well thought out and relevant.

Great post.

I was molested when I was eleven. That's something that any man I get really close to is going to need to know because, although it's the past, I haven't gotten over it. How do you get over something like that? How do you forget (although I have done a pretty commendable job of blocking the first half of my life from memory)? But it's so hard to tell him. How do you bring it up and how do you word it? And how can you look at him wondering how he could bear to even look at you or touch you knowing that?

Great song by TWS. I heard it first when I was really mad about something, what now I can't remember. All I can think of when I hear it is seeing someone screaming..and their mouth is moving...but they're not making a sound.

Nice post Kal, has happened to far too many children, women and men. Innocence lost is a terrible thing and has a domino effect on everyone remotely involved with the person. So many women here speak of it in their own blogs. A few men that I know had their innocence taken but surpisingly refuse to see themselves as victims. As a victim myself, I wonder if the men might have the right idea.
